Indian billionaire Ravi Ruia buys Russian-linked London mansion for £113 million
Ravi Ruia bought a £113 million ($145 million) London mansion linked to Russian property investor Andrey Goncharenko in one of the UK capital’s biggest residential deals in recent years. The family office of Ruia, who co-owns investment firm Essar Group, purchased the Hanover Lodge mansion overlooking Regent’s Park at 150 Park Road this month through a sale of the home’s Gibraltar-incorporated holding company, according to a person familiar with the matter. The mansion was owned as recently as two years ago by Goncharenko, the former deputy chief executive officer of Gazprom Invest Yug, a subsidiary of the Russian state-run energy firm. He bought the property’s outstanding lease in 2012 from Conservative Party peer Rajkumar Bagri for £120 million, the person said. The property “is under construction and became available at a price which makes it an attractive investment for the family office,” William Rego, a spokesperson for the Ruia family office, said in an emailed statement. The deal was first reported by the Financial Times.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to London this weekend, featuring a stellar fight card with the heavyweight clash between Tom Aspinall and Marcin Tybura taking centerstage. Aspinall, known for his dominant display against Alexander Volkov over a year ago, is back in action after recovering from a nasty knee injury he sustained in a bout against Curtis Blaydes. With his sights set on a world title shot, the 30-year-old British fighter is prepared to overcome Tybura in what promises to be a career-defining night. Alongside Aspinall's redemption quest, co-headliner Molly McCann is also seeking her moment of triumph. Her defeat to rising star Erin Blanchfield left her in the dark abyss, but she aims to make a bold statement by securing victory against Julija Stoliarenko.

Cillian Murphy: All about the lead actor who plays the role of haunted scientist in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer
Cillian Murphy hung up the phone in disbelief when Christopher Nolan called him for playing the lead role in the special film Oppenheimer. The talented Irish actor has been a consistent presence in Nolan's films for nearly two decades, often taking on supporting roles. However, in 'Oppenheimer,' Nolan entrusted him with the lead role, marking a significant shift in their collaboration. Back in 2003, Murphy had his first encounter with Nolan when he was invited to audition not just for a role in the Batman movie but specifically for the iconic character of Batman himself. Though Murphy knew he wasn't the right fit for the Dark Knight, he saw this as an opportunity to meet the director behind «Insomnia» and «Memento.» The meeting went exceptionally well, and from there, Murphy's collaboration with Nolan took off. He tapped into a sinister intensity to portray the corrupt psychiatrist Dr. Crane/Scarecrow, a character who would make appearances in all three Batman films. Nolan continued to entrust Murphy with significant roles, casting him as the conflicted heir in «Inception» and a traumatized soldier in «Dunkirk.» Their professional relationship has since blossomed, leading to remarkable cinematic achievements.
