Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is buying an estate on an exclusive man-made barrier island in Miami known as «Billionaire Bunker,» where he will be neighbors with a growing list of celebrities including Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.Bezos, 59, is paying $68 million for the three-bedroom, waterfront home, which sits on 2.8 acres (1.1 hectares), Fortune magazine and Bloomberg reported. The Amazon founder stepped down as CEO in 2021 to devote more time to philanthropy and other projects.

In response to the reported cases of locally acquired malaria infections, Miami-Dade Mosquito Control is closely monitoring the situation. They have noticed an increase in requests for mosquito inspections. To address this, the county offers free inspections through 311, available both online and over the phone. Trained inspectors search for containers harboring mosquito larvae and employ appropriate measures, such as larvacide, a biological pesticide that specifically targets mosquitoes without harming other organisms.

Miami-Dade County will soon start to remove FTX's advertising brand from the NBA’s Miami Heat arena, after granting the right from a United States bankruptcy judge in Delaware on Jan. 11, the Associated Press reports.
