IndiGo said on Tuesday it expects groundings in "mid-30s" in the fourth quarter due to a powder metal issue in Pratt & Whitney engines. The airline said in a statement, «We have recently received additional information on the powder metal issue from Pratt & Whitney and based on our preliminary assessment of this, we anticipate Aircraft on Ground (AOG) in the range of midthirties in the fourth quarter (Jan-Mar2024) due to accelerated engine removals. These groundings will be incremental to the current AOGs.

As part of the company's India Capability Centre, the new facility will drive customer service and operations support for Pratt & Whitney Canada's 68,000 engines in service globally, the company said. Co-located with Pratt & Whitney's supply chain operations, engineering, and digital transformation centres of excellence in India, CSS will deliver a range of services such as MRO support, spare part management, engine leasing, engine reliability analysis and contract administration. The facility will employ over 150 aerospace experts and engineers who will support a global customer service ecosystem, it added.

It called for accelerated inspections of around 600-700 engines on these jets for lengthy quality inspections between 2023 and 2026.

Go Airlines was on Thursday denied a motion for emergency arbitration in its dispute with U.S. engine maker Pratt & Whitney, a court filing with the U.S.

New Delhi: A Delhi High Court division bench on Monday heard the appeal filed by the resolution professional (RP) of Go First, challenging an interim order issued by a single bench on 5 July, allowing the lessors to inspect the airline’s fleet, as it would be disastrous for Go First in its efforts to resume operations. Neeraj Kishan Kaul, counsel appearing for the RP, said the order disregarded a proposed resolution approved by Committee of Creditors, and submitted to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

According to local sources, on Dec. 13, crypto executive Sam Bankman-Fried's (SBF) lawyers have requested bail in a Bahamas' Magistrate Court after his arrest on Dec. 12 pending extradition request by U.S. authorities. The move comes after presiding judge Chief Magistrate JoyAnn Ferguson-Pratt stated earlier today that SBF had the right to request bail.
