Is India losing interest in travelling post-Covid pandemic? Here's what this report says
CNBC report. Other than falling trend of travelling in many countries, leisure travelling continues to be popular in countries like China, Mexico, Japan, and Brazil, reported CNBC citing Morning Consult’s “The State of Travel & Hospitality" study published in September. At the global level, the falling interest in travelling in most of the countries can be explained by the fading away of the phenomenon of ‘revenge travelling’.

Singapore, Australia, France and Sweden see rise in volume of score reports from Indian TOEFL takers
Singapore, Australia, France, and Sweden are witnessing an increasing volume of score reports from Indian TOEFL test takers and emerging as new destinations of interest, according to the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The top two destinations for TOEFL test takers in India since 2017 have been the United States and Canada. Till 2019, Germany was at the third spot and the UK at the fourth spot. No, crude prices are not headed for $150 a barrel
en masse from conventional cars to EVs, a huge rise in the cost of gasoline and diesel would be even more powerful than these subsidies. Saudi Arabia and Russia are rational states, not particularly prone to bouts of suicidal anxiety. Why would they constrain production enough to accelerate the dumping of petrofuels for mobility? Four, the Ukraine war, a prime driver of food and fuel inflation, is a war of choice.

Truckers in Germany end 'unprecedented' strike
Europe ended a weeks-long work stoppage in Germany including a hunger strike after reaching a pay deal at the weekend, labour representatives said. Edwin Atema, head of the Road Transport Due Diligence Foundation, which monitors and addresses violations of work standards in Europe, said Saturday that the striking truckers had seen their demands met. «All claims and charges against the Graefenhausen drivers are withdrawn, money has been paid and the strike is over,» he said on X, formerly known as Twitter, referring to the location in western Germany where some 80 drivers had set up a protest encampment. Atema, who led the negotiations on the labour side, said the drivers had been previously «invisible» in European road transport supply chains but achieved «fundamental changes» with their industrial action. «Not invisible anymore, but invincible,» he said. The truckers — mostly from Uzbekistan and Georgia, with a handful also from Tajikistan, Ukraine and Turkey — work for several Polish trucking companies owned by the Mazur Group. They said they were not being regularly paid their salaries — at a daily rate of about 80 euros ($85) — and were charged hefty amounts to even take the jobs in the first place while having to work extremely long hours. Believing their Polish employers would not respond to their growing desperation amid the 10-week strike, some of the drivers stopped eating last month. They were demanding a total of 500,000 euros in what they said were unpaid wages.

‘Not boarding school, its our…’: German diplomat calls out advertisement in Indian newspaper
German ambassador to India Dr Philipp Ackermann took to microblogging site ‘X’ to flag a false advertising which talks of a "Mega gathering of India's Leading Boarding Schools", but features an image of the Bellevue palace in Germany - the Indian equivalent of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The image that was posted in a newspaper showed the German President's house and mentioned it was India's national capital Delhi. Ackermann in a rather sarcastic way pointed out the discrepancy and said no child would be admitted to the presidential palace.
