Nestlé India enters into millets-based Ready-to-Make category
FMCG maker Nestle India has entered into the millets-based Ready-to-Make (RTM) market by extending its nutrition brand a+ in the category. The company has introduced a+ masala millets containing bajra in the select market of NCR and online but has plans to expand it to other markets as it scales up, its Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Narayanan said on Thursday. The product has been developed under the guidance of the Indian Millet Institute of Millet Research, supporting the government initiative to promote millet as a more sustainable food option. «We felt that 'a+' has strong nutritional connotations and that is why we decided to launch the new product under this brand. This is being done under a public-private partnership with IIMR and is in line with the government's focus on millets.

Vinit Bolinjkar sees conspiracy behind Soros attack on Adani group; picks 3 stocks to buy on dips
Vinit Bolinjkar, Head of Research, Ventura Securities, says “the stock that needs to be bought definitely is Adani Ports, Adani Enterprises, followed by Adani Energy Solutions. My reasoning for these three stocks to be picked up is very simple. Adani Ports is clearly a trade on India's burgeoning exports, especially since China is collapsing. We have already become the fifth largest exporter globally and we are on the threshold of accelerating our exports. Also, the stock has got significant margins, EBITDA margins are one of the best in the world.”Should markets dismiss this new set of allegations against the Adani Group?See, it is actually one A and one B of the same news.

Climate change boosts risk of extreme wildfires 25%: study
Climate change has sharply boosted the risk of fast-spreading wildfires, according to a Californian study published Wednesday that offers lessons for prevention after recent disasters in Canada, Greece and Hawaii. Scientists at the Breakthrough Institute, a non-profit research centre, found that human-caused warming increased the frequency of «extreme» wildfires by 25 percent on average compared to the pre-industrial era, in a study in the journal Nature. Examining a series of blazes from 2003 to 2020, they used machine learning to analyse the link between higher average temperatures, dryer conditions and the fastest-spreading blazes — ones that burn more than 10,000 acres (4,000 hectares) a day. The impact of climate change varied from fire to fire. In certain partly dry conditions, global warming pushed the area beyond key thresholds, making extreme fires much more likely. In very dry conditions, the impact was less. «This means that we should pay the closest attention to the places and times that historically have experienced conditions just on the moist side of these thresholds, but which are being pushed over these thresholds onto the dry side by background warming,» lead author Patrick Brown told AFP. The researchers calculated that the risk could increase on average by 59 percent by the end of the century under a «low-emissions» scenario where global warming is limited to 1.8 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels, and up to 172 percent in an unbridled high-emissions scenario. Earth's surface has already warmed 1.2C. Using data from recorded fires, the researchers measured the probability of a given blaze turning into an «extreme» one.

PM Modi raises 'Jai Vigyan' slogan while on his way to ISRO office
Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from BJP workers and the public as he landed in Bengaluru on Saturday to congratulate the scientists who worked on Chandrayaan-3. He addressed the crowd after he landed at HAL airport, saying «Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan (hail soldier, hail farmer, hail science, hail research)», before heading to meet the scientists at ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) office. «I was not in the country (at the time of the launch) but I decided the first thing I would do after getting back would be to visit our scientists,» he said. The PM flew in early in the morning from Greece after attending the 15th Brics summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. Local artists waiting for him at the HAL airport played the dhol and danced, waving the Tricolour. The BJP had asked its workers to wave the national flag instead of the party flag as they were celebrating ISRO's achievement, not the party's. The crowd was packed around HAL airport, with adults, old and children all equally excited to catch a glimpse of the PM as he came to felicitate the scientists of their home state.

Requested Karnataka Guv, CM, Dy CM not to take trouble of coming early to receive me: PM Modi
Bengaluru visit to meet ISRO scientists, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Friday alleged that he purportedly barred Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar from receiving him at the HAL Airport. Meanwhile, a war of words erupted between BJP MLA and former minister R Ashoka and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar over «ignoring» protocol to receive the Prime Minister at the airport. Modi flew down to Bengaluru around 6 AM directly from the Greek capital of Athens to interact with ISRO scientists involved in the Chandrayaan-3 mission to the Moon. Addressing a large number of people gathered outside the HAL airport, the PM said since he was coming from a far-off place (Athens) he did not know what time he would reach here, and he requested Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM Shivakumar not to take the trouble of coming to receive him as he would return soon after paying tributes to ISRO scientists. «So, I had requested them that when I pay a formal visit, they definitely follow protocol,» Modi said. «They cooperated and I am thankful and grateful to them,» he said. Ramesh alleged that the PM was irritated with Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for felicitating the ISRO scientists before him, and termed Modi barring the Chief Minister and his deputy as «petulant petty politics». Siddaramaiah on Thursday visited the Missions Operations Complex at ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) and felicitated ISRO chief S Somanath and his team on the successful touch down of Chandrayaan-3 mission's lander on the Lunar surface. «The government will officially honour them by organising a special programme at the Banquet hall at Vidhana Soudha.
