There is a large literature on the varieties of capitalism seen around the world. In their Introduction to the much-cited volume on Varieties of Capitalism (Oxford University Press, UK, 2001), Hall and Soskice classified capitalist countries into two broad groups: Liberal market economies (LMEs) such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and coordinated market economies (CMEs) such as Germany, France, Japan, Sweden and Austria. In LMEs, firms coordinate their interaction with each other and other stakeholders through hierarchies and the market.

LONDON (Reuters) — European shares rose to a record high on Thursday, lifted by a rally in global stocks that also saw Japan's blue-chip Nikkei index hit an all-time high.

Madhavrao Scindia's vision for the Shatabdi Express was inspired by his observations during visits to Japan and France, where he surveyed their high-speed train systems. Accompanied by his son Jyotiraditya, Madhavrao Scindia gleaned insights from these trips, seeking to imbibe the best practices into India's railway infrastructure. In the interview, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said that his father used to take him on some trips abroad at his own expenses to give him exposure.

Nikkei share average climbed to the cusp of an all-time peak on Thursday after unexpectedly strong revenue forecasts from U.S. chip designer Nvidia lifted Asian tech stocks. However, the regional mood was tempered by a retreat in Chinese stocks from multi-month highs reached amid Beijing's efforts to boost market confidence.

US prosecutors with conspiring to traffic nuclear materials including uranium and weapons-grade Plutonium from Myanmar to other countries, according to a superseding indictment announced Wednesday, The Hill reported. Authorities said they brought the charges against Takeshi Ebisawa after he and other associates in Thailand allegedly showed samples of nuclear material to an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent posing as a narcotics and weapons trafficker, the Hill reported. The Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a press release that the US worked with Thai authorities to seize the nuclear samples, which were subsequently transferred to US law enforcement custody.
