Cooper Men's ODI World Cup: Netherlands team players in India for spin and batting camp
Men's ODI World Cup, twelve players from the Netherlands men's team are in India this week for a training camp focused on spin and batting led by head coach Ryan Cook, said the Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) in a statement on Thursday. The camp is intended to prepare for the local conditions to be found in the upcoming Men's ODI World Cup in India from October 5 to November 19. In addition to Cook, assistant coaches Ryan van Niekerk and Heino Kuhn are present with the Netherlands players in Bengaluru. Captain Scott Edwars, Max O' Dowd, Vikram Singh, Aryan Dutt, Teja Nidamanuru, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Wesley Barresi, Clayton Floyd, Daniel Doram, Noah Croes, Arnav Jain and Philippe Boissevain are the Netherlands' players in India at the moment for the camp, with the final Netherlands Men's ODI World Cup squad to be announced no later than September 7. The training group is currently residing in Bengaluru and Alur and is supplemented locally with net bowlers and side-arm specialists for practice. Both of Netherlands' training camps and necessary facilities are happening in cooperation with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). The group will return to the Netherlands on September 6. The Netherlands' final squad for the Men's ODI World Cup will then come to India to complete the final phase of preparation for the quadrennial event from September 19-28.

By introducing this feature, Corendon aims to provide a tailored experience for travellers who prefer a child-free environment. The airline will pilot the no kids area on its 10-hour flights between Amsterdam and the Caribbean island of Curacao, charging passengers an additional 45 euros ($49) for a standard seat or $100 for an XL seat, for the privilege of sitting in the “Only Adult” zone. They will block the first 12 rows of the airline and will comprise of 93 standard seats and nine extra-large seats, curtained off from the rest of the aircraft, with a strict over 16s rule. “This zone in the aircraft is intended for travelers traveling without children and for business travelers who want to work in a quiet environment,” the airline said in a press release, adding that it would also benefit parents of young children who may worry less about upsetting other passengers. This is not the first time that an airline has introduced such rule.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) into India declined 34% year-on-year to $10.94 billion during April-June this fiscal. FDI inflows were $16.59 billion during April-June 2022-23, data released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) showed. Total FDI inflows, including fresh FDI equity inflows, reinvested earnings and other capital, were $17.56 billion against $22.34 billion a year ago. Singapore was the top source of FDI with inflows of almost $3 billion, followed by the Netherlands, at $1.5 billion.

Investor caution ahead of remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole Symposium lifted the safe-haven dollar to a 10-week high, its biggest rise in a month, as markets waited for word on how long rates would stay high.
