The New York Times Co. (NYT) has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), alleging that they used millions of the newspaper's articles to train chatbots without permission.

The legal action for copyright infringement arises in conjunction with the New York Times (NYT) aligning itself with several other publications to impede OpenAI's web crawler from extracting content from its website.
