It may be pointed out that India and Russia are exploring SMRs as part of civil nuclear partnership The RITM-200 series SMR NPP is a pressurized water reactor (PWR). Its modifications are designed for nuclear icebreakers, land-based and floating SMR NPPs. The RITM-200 reactor was designed based on the experience of operation of SMRon Russian nuclear icebreakers (more than 400 reactor-years). Currently, eight RITM200 reactors are installed on the newest nuclear icebreakers Arktika, Sibir, Ural, and Yakutia. Six of them have been in operation on three icebreakers since 2020 and 2022.
