Alaska Airlines plane that suffered blowout was restricted over warning light
Boeing jetliner that suffered an inflight blowout over Oregon was not being used for flights to Hawaii after a warning light that could have indicated a pressurization problem lit up on three different flights, a federal official said Sunday.Alaska Airlines decided to restrict the aircraft from long flights over water so the plane “could return very quickly to an airport” if the warning light reappeared, said Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board.Homendy cautioned that the pressurization light might be unrelated to Friday’s incident in which a plug covering an unused exit door blew off the Boeing 737 Max 9as it cruised about three miles (4.8 kilometers) over Oregon. The warning light came on during three previous flights: on Dec. 7, Jan. 3 and Jan.

iPhone survived a 16,000-foot drop to the ground from the recent Alaska Airlines ASA 1282 flight from Portland, Oregon to Ontario, California, after a window on the Boeing 737-9 MAX airplane shattered, causing phones and other things to be sucked out mid-air. According to the sources, another phone has been found which is also operational following the fall. Although the iPhone's model is still unknown, based on images posted on X, it appears to be either the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone was protected with a hard case. While strolling down Barnes Road, Seanathan Bates came upon the found iPhone, which was activated for in-flight use.

India's DGCA says checks of Boeing 737 Max 8 jets satisfactory
aviation regulator said on Monday that checks by domestic airlines of Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft had been performed satisfactorily after a cabin panel blew out on a new Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9 aircraft last week. India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Saturday ordered all Indian operators with the 737 Max 8 aircraft to check the operation and proper closing of all over-wing emergency exits as a precautionary measure. Indian airlines do not operate the 737 Max 9 aircraft. The Alaska Airlines aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday as it climbed out of Portland, Oregon, triggering a temporary grounding of Max 9 jets in the United States. Checks have been satisfactorily performed on four 737 Max 8 aircraft operated by Air India Express, eight by Spicejet, and 20 by Akasa Air, the Indian regulator said in a statement. Spicejet said on Monday that the investigations produced no adverse findings and that its flight operations were not affected by the checks.
