NBA season 2023-24 is officially commencing tonight in Denver and is scheduled to run until the finals in April. The season begins with an exciting matchup as the defending champion Denver Nuggets face the LA Lakers at 7:30 pm (ET) on Tuesday night, followed by the Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns at 10 pm (ET). These four teams are among the most entertaining in the league. Tuesday night's games will be exclusively broadcast on TNT, and there are various ways to stream the action live online without cable. Coverage will be distributed across TNT, NBA TV, ESPN, and ABC. The first games on Tuesday include the Denver Nuggets vs LA Lakers and the Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns on TNT. For those without cable, there are still plenty of options to stream the games live online through platforms like DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, Hulu+ Live TV, and Fubo TV. NBA teams currently have about $4.8 billion in salary committed to players for this season, meaning the average per team is around $160 million. Just three seasons ago, only two teams spent more than $160 million. The total NBA payroll — for now, pending changes based on whatever happens during the season that starts on Tuesday night — is up about 7% over last year, and has risen by 26% over what teams were paying just three years ago. The teams with the six biggest payrolls going into this season, in order: Golden State, the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Miami.
