Stephen Curry, known for his basketball skills, is branching into scripted television. Peacock has released the first trailer for «Mr. Throwback,» a six-episode mockumentary series. In the show, Curry plays himself and reunites with his former middle school teammate, portrayed by Adam Pally. This series marks Curry’s debut in a scripted role.
Alongside Curry and Pally, the series features a strong cast including Ego Nwodim and Adyen Mayeri. Recurring guest stars are Layla Scalisi and Tien Tran, with Tracy Letts and Rich Sommer making appearances. David Wain directs all six episodes. Curry praised the collaborative effort in creating the series. The producing team includes David Caspe, Matthew Libman, Daniel Libman, and David Wain, with Erick Peyton steering the project at Unanimous Media. Pally also serves as an executive producer.
