Govinda’s team reacts to ‘Bade Miya Chote Miya’ producer’s allegations, says ‘Hero No 1’s late arrival to sets may have been caused by ill health
Govinda’s manager has reacted to accusations of the ‘Raja Babu’ star being unprofessional. In a recent interview, Vashu Bhagnani, the producer of the upcoming Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘Bade Miya Chote Miya’ claimed that the superstar once took three days to show up at the set in Switzerland, but once he did, he finished most of his work within a day. The veteran producer revealed how director David Dhawan and his team waited for three days for Govinda to turn up at the set. When he didn’t he gave the actor a call. “I called him and asked, ‘If you are not going to come, then we will come back.’ He got upset and said I am coming. He landed at 6 am. I went to pick him up at the airport. He sat in the van and we were not talking to each other for 10-15 minutes. Then he said ‘I want to shave’ and I thought where we would find a place that’s open at 6 am. I took him to the petrol pump. We got a basic razor for one euro or something. In the bathroom there, he shaved quickly. At 7:30 am, he gave the first shot..” he revealed.

A group of Swiss and international investors representing billions of dollars of Credit Suisse AT1 bonds sued the Swiss regulator in April 2023 for the wipeout that followed the bank's acquisition by rival UBS in March last year. The AT1 bonds were issued by Credit Suisse as part of its capital structure to meet regulatory capital requirements. These had a clause allowing Swiss authorities to write them off regardless of what happened to the shares if the bank fell insolvent. Credit Suisse AT1 bondholders force Swiss regulator to hand over wipeout decree — reports However, the law ...

The India-EFTA pact’s highlight is its investment aspect
In many ways, the recently concluded agreement between India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is mainly a confidence building measure for India in the run-up to trade agreements likely to be pursued after general elections with the EU and UK. In most cases, the I-EFTA pact will have limited impact—India’s principal import from the four-nation group, gold, is not subject to pre-determined tariff reductions, while agricultural imports are excluded.

Real interest rates need to climb before RBI's easing cycle begins
Swiss National Bank became the first major industrial economy to unexpectedly reduce rates, raising the question whether the pivot has finally arrived for more central banks around the world to follow the example of its conservative European counterpart. Ahead of this week's scheduled review meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), market watchers and investors are keen to know the timeline for India's rate easing cycle. However, the texture — and driver — of India's robust economic growth rates suggest their wait will perhaps be of some duration. The chances of a rate reduction in the first half of the fiscal year beginning Monday look wafer thin, with policymakers likely waiting for higher neutral rates before nudging the rate lever. The primary reason behind such overwhelmingly short odds on the 'higher-for-longer' rate trajectory is the nature of the ongoing economic expansion, which has made New Delhi a distinct outlier in a rather circumspect world. For more than 30 straight months, the gauges for purchasing managers have stayed in the expansionary mode, while the percolation effects of unprecedented capital expenditure in helping broad-base the texture of economic growth is becoming increasingly evident.
