Popular gaming platform Roblox could look to add cross-platform NFTs in-game, founder and CEO David Baszucki said.

The frontman of the popular virtual universe game Roblox, David Baszucki, has said he ‘dreams’ of having the ability to move nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and digital objects across multiple platforms.

Roblox, known for its cross-device compatibility, has attracted a global player base, spanning from desktop computers to mobile phones. However, there have been persistent rumors about its potential arrival on PlayStation consoles. During his keynote address at RDC 2023, David Baszucki revealed that Roblox would be hitting PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles in October 2023. While an exact release date remains undisclosed, players anticipate its arrival around Halloween. The conference showcased live gameplay simultaneously on three platforms: PS5, Meta Quest Pro headset, and mobile devices. Notably, the PS5 outperformed with a smoother gameplay experience, higher frame rates, and impressive visuals, all seamlessly controlled by the DualSense controller. Additionally, Roblox's development team shared their innovative approach. They introduced a new API using Objective C and C++ programming languages, facilitating the platform's accessibility on iOS and Xbox. This effort paved the way for Roblox's redesign to cater to Meta Quest and PlayStation devices. As of now, the game is already accessible on all Meta Quest headsets and is poised to expand to even more platforms in the near future, enhancing its presence in the ever-expanding world of online gaming.
