Rutte on Sunday told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the Netherlands and Denmark will give F-16 warplanes to Ukraine. Rutte, meeting with Zelenskyy at a Dutch air base, said the planes would be delivered once unspecified conditions are met. The announcement came minutes after Rutte and Zelenskyy inspected two gray F-16 jets parked in a hangar at the base.

Netherlands is heading towards a snap poll as Prime Minister Mark Rutte has resigned. He is expected to meet King Willem Alexander soon and advise him to dissolve the Parliament. He also said that the parties came to the conclusion that those differences are ‘irreconcilable’. Rutte’s VVD and Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) want to adopt a stricter migration policy, while center-left Democrat 66 and Christian Union are in favor of a liberal policy. Rutte was in favor of tightening the curbing on reuniting the family members of asylum seekers and wanted to put the cap on the war refugees to 200 per month. But, Democrat 66 and Christian Union were against these measures. Rutte has earlier warned that he would topple the government if he was not allowed to implement his policies. The center-left and Christian parties opposed him in the meeting and the talks collapsed. Following this, the prime minister resigned. The parliamentary elections in the Netherlands are scheduled for 2023, but now the king is most likely to dissolve the government and order for snap polls.
