IEA will gain from India's increased involvement: PM Modi
Narendra Modi on Wednesday said India brings talent and innovation to the table and the International Energy Agency (IEA) will benefit if the world's fastest growing major economy plays a bigger role in the Paris-based organisation. In a recorded message for the ministerial meeting of the IEA, he said India has surpassed its Paris climate targets ahead of schedule and remains firmly committed to addressing the global issue. Prime Minister Modi said India's carbon emissions account for only four per cent of the global total despite it being home to 17 per cent of the global population and undertaking some of the world's largest energy access initiatives. Congratulating the IEA on its 50th anniversary, the prime minister said, «I am sure that the IEA will benefit when India plays a bigger role in it.»

Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammed Nabi on Wednesday became the oldest player to headline the ICC ODI all-rounders' list, ending Shakib Al Hasan's long reign at the top. There is little to no change at the top of the Test rankings with India's Jasprit Bumrah firmly perched at the top of the bowlers' list. India's Ravindra Jadeja, who is set to return in the third Test against England beginning Thursday, still led the way comprehensively in Test all-rounders' rankings. Nabi reached the No.1 spot following his 136 during the opening match of Afghanistan's three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, while the 39-year-old also picked up a wicket in the same contest to gain one place and move to seventh on the latest rankings for ODI bowlers.

Despite dried-up investments in 2023, absorption surpassed pre-pandemic level of 2019 by 15%. The sector received investments worth USD 646 million in 2023, accounting for 15% of the total institutional investment received in the real estate sector. However, investments declined by 65% in 2023 over the previous year as investors opted for wait-and-watch mode amid global macroeconomic uncertainty. In the past decade, 3PL companies emerged as a preferred choice for several businesses as these companies can optimize cost along with providing flexibility to their clients in case of demand uncertainty.
