Sectorally, buying was seen in capital goods, IT, consumer durables, auto, and bank stocks while power, utilities, healthcare, and telecom stocks witnessed selling pressure. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) share price rose 3% to hit a fresh 52-week high Thursday after the construction major said its buildings & factories business bagged orders in the large category which are in the range of ₹2,500-5,000 crore. L&T shares gained as much as 2.90% to ₹a high of ₹3,114.00 apiece on the BSE. The business has secured an order to construct a residential township in Bengaluru involving the construction of 3,627 apartments spread across 19 Towers.

State Bank of India (SBI), has been extended till August 2024, news agency Reuters reported on October 5, citing government sources who are privy to the development. Khara's current tenure was scheduled to conclude on October 7. As per the persons aware of the matter, the SBI chief has been asked to continue till he attains the age of 63, in August next year.

Digital payments and financial services company MobiKwik said that it has recorded a profit for the second consecutive quarter this fiscal year, and seen topline growth as it focuses on its credit strategy. For the quarter ended September 30, 2023, MobiKwik recorded revenues of Rs 208 crore, a 17% jump over the previous quarter. The company posted a total profit of Rs 5 crore for the quarter.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has paid a final dividend of Rs.88 crore for the year 2022-23 to the government of India. The Indian government holds 63.17% stake in BHEL.

Stock split 2023: The board of directors of BCL Industries Limited declared record date for stock split after its meeting on Wednesday. The company board has fixed stock split record date on 27th October 2023. The small-cap company has already declared stock subdivision of one share of the company with a face alue of ₹10 each to ten company shares with a face value of Re 1 per share.

According to the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, following the standard protocol of 2021 by the Commission for Air Quality Management, Punjab recorded 656 paddy-residue burning incidents, while Haryana saw 166, and Uttar Pradesh reported 74 cases between September 15 and October 4.
