UPS Digital Action performer stage recommendations 10-yr yield at 7.5% is like a goldilocks level: Parul Mittal Sinha
Parul Mittal Sinha, head-financial markets, India at Standard Chartered Bank. In an interview with Bhaskar Dutta, she said the Indian rupee will be relatively better performing despite the strengthening US dollar. Edited excerpts: The RBI sounds hawkish but when it comes to action it is not so harsh. How do you read the central bank? Our expectation is that the RBI will not do any more rate hikes. In the previous policy, they did mention that they are very focused on bringing inflation down. They think that their policy measures are taking effect; it's going to be a slower move than probably anticipated earlier. We think there isn't a need to raise the repo rate, but they will use other tools. OMO (open market operations) sales are one tool that they have spoken of in the latest policy. They have used ICRR (Incremental Cash Reserve Ratio) before; they'll probably do a CRR hike if required, but they have increased the hurdle to increase the repo rate itself.

UPS Digital CEO Action TCS testing prevention TCS may grow in single digits this fiscal year: CEO K Krithivasan
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) may grow in “very moderate single digits” in this fiscal year, according to CEO K Krithivasan who assumed office in June. This could mean that TCS could register its slowest annual growth ever, more so as the first two quarters have been “very muted” and the next two quarters are expected to be seasonally weak for the entire sector, Krithivasan told ET in an interview. Target Ripple Action Puzzle Parke gossips open View: Will RBI squeeze banks with an open market operation?
RBI. Its ripples have not dampened the festive spirit as the world beyond the money market is oblivious to the cryptic war of words. For most, little has changed: the businessman is not charged a higher rate on loans, the homebuyer is paying the same EMI, and stock traders are fine with governor Shaktikanta Das leaving interest rates untouched. However, the rift has left bankers dealing in the more obscure bond market baffled and angry. The dense drama has laid open RBI’s dilemma and the confusion of the bond brigade. The protagonists are an affable governor who wants to tame inflation without hiking interest rates, particularly amid festivities, his articulate, pony-tailed deputy, Michael Patra, who has to justify RBI’s actions, words, and silence, and bankers who lend and borrow to manage liquidity while taking cues from the market, rivals and RBI to price loans and deposits. At the heart of the debate is how banks handle their daily surplus or deficit liquidity vis-à-vis how RBI wants them to do it. While RBI wants banks to manage liquidity without undermining the monetary policy framework, they prefer doing what is convenient. There is no middle ground with bankers arguing that the market has transformed, and RBI must adjust to the new realities. What has changed?

Citi BLOCK Waters Action hospital reports evacuation Israel readies to invade Gaza where one million have fled homes
Gaza ground invasion aimed at destroying Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist militant group that unleashed the bloodiest attack in the country's history. In the eight days since Hamas gunmen killed more than 1,300 Israelis in their surprise onslaught, Israel has responded with a devastating bombing campaign that has claimed over 2,300 lives in Gaza. Fear and chaos reigned in the 40-kilometre (25-mile) long strip that is one of the world's most densely populated areas and where the UN estimated that one million have been displaced in the war's first week. Entire Gaza city blocks lay in ruins and hospitals were overflowing with thousands of wounded in the besieged territory, but there were fears of worse to come. A bereaved and infuriated Israel has massed forces outside the long-blockaded enclave of 2.4 million in preparation for what the army has said would be a land, air and sea attack involving a «significant ground operation». Israel has also stationed troops and tanks on its UN-patrolled northern border with Lebanon and closed a four kilometre (2.5 mile) wide zone there to civilians after deadly exchanges of cross-border fire with Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited front line troops in the south near Gaza on Saturday, wearing a flak jacket. «Are you ready for what is coming?» he said.
