markets Provident Digital Action President 2020 "After disengagement, we should look at de-escalation...": Former Foreign Secy Harsh Shringla lauds India-China agreement on patrolling
Shringla has said that agreement between India and China on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh is likely to lead to de-escalation and provides an opening for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping to meet on the sidelines of BRICS Summit in Russia this week. Shringla, who was Foreign Secretary when actions of Chinese army led to a standoff along LAC in eastern Ladakh in May 2020, told that a fairly firm hand in the negotiations has brought about a satisfactory conclusion. «I think the agreement gives us a way to move forward, provides an opening for leaders to meet, and possibly even take this into de-escalation — the thinning out of troops on the frontline. It will be recalled that China had massed troops at the time when hostilities began, and those troops are still there. So I think after disengagement, we should look at de-escalation,» Shringla told ANI.

Dr. S. Jaishankar addressed the evolving dynamics of global relations, particularly focusing on India’s complex relationship with Canada, at an event in New Delhi. While speaking at NDTV World Summit 2024, the minister remarked on the shifting priorities in diplomatic discussions, noting a noticeable change in focus from the U.S. to Canada. Addressing specific concerns regarding Canada, Jaishankar pointed out issues related to diplomatic conduct. He noted that Canada had requested an inquiry into India's High Commissioner, prompting India to withdraw its diplomats. markets Digital Action Remark Justice Schools Courts Karnataka HC rejects PIL seeking apology from Rahul Gandhi over alleged remarks on women
Rahul Gandhi apologise for allegedly tarnishing the dignity of Indian women. The PIL stemmed from a claim that Gandhi had falsely accused former Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse, of «raping 400 women and filming the act,» describing it as «mass rape» and not a sex scandal. A bench comprising Chief Justice NV Anjaria and Justice K Aravind dismissed the petition, stating that it was a waste of judicial time. The Court also imposed a Rs 25,000 fine on the petitioner, the All India Dalit Action Committee, for filing the plea. The petitioner's counsel argued that Gandhi's remarks, made during a public speech, were highly irresponsible and offensive, particularly to the women of Hassan. He pleaded the Court to issue a notice to Gandhi, compelling him to respond to the allegations.

markets UPS Action Strategy PAM No such provision for using bulldozer...: SP Ayodhya MP over UP govt serving demolition notices to accused in Bahraich violence
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's action in response to the violence in Bahraich, which included issuing a demolition notice to the accused, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad expressed on Sunday that he does not understand why CM Yogi is taking this approach, as there is no provision for the use of bulldozers in the rule of law. Speaking to ANI, Prasad said that the UP Chief Minister appears to want to enforce his own version of law in the state. «As far as the bulldozer is concerned, it is not mentioned anywhere in the law, whether in the IPC, CrPC, or the Evidence Act. No matter how severe the crime, the law allows for provisions such as the death penalty, but there is no provision for using a bulldozer and demolishing property. I don't understand why Yogi Baba is doing this. He seems to have his own system; he wants to implement his own law in Uttar Pradesh. These actions are not in line with the rule of law, they belong to 'jungle law' where lawlessness prevails, and authorities do as they please,» said the Samajwadi Party MP.
