Citi Target Extreme Manufacturing Mobile Apple reports place Enough iPhone buffer stock in place, Chennai rains won't hit Apple's business
Apple's iPhone business in India will have no impact from the reported factory closure in Chennai due to the extreme weather situation in Chennai owing to cyclone Michaung, said industry executives close to the company. They said Apple ensures there are enough buffer stocks of iPhones in distribution to deal with such situations. «Apple does not work in a just-in-time inventory model, where a day of downtime impacts supplies. They ensure there is enough stock to tide over a week-long disruption,» said one of the executives, who did not wish to be identified. The executives said Apple treats worker safety as the top priority in such situations and that this has been communicated to its suppliers in the cyclone-affected area. Production was yet to resume at Foxconn and Pegatron facilities in Sriperumbudur near Chennai on Tuesday, despite an improvement in weather, after being halted following heavy rains impacting day-to-day life in the coastal city and its outskirts. Taiwan-headquartered Foxconn and Pegatron are two of Apple's key local assemblers of iPhones and are part of the government's production-linked incentive scheme.

coinbase Apple Remark NVIDIA Southern Hawaiian reports US stock market: Wall Street ends down as megacaps give back gains
US stocks ended lower on Monday, interrupting last week's rally, as investors turned cautious ahead of employment data due this week that could alter expectations that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates early next year. The S&P 500 receded, with megacaps Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia and Amazon dipping over 1%, pressured by higher U.S. Treasury yields, which made returns on stocks less attractive. The S&P 500 registered its highest close of the year on Friday as remarks from Fed Chair Jerome Powell acknowledged the central bank's need to «move forward carefully» amid signs of economic softening, comments that bolstered expectations the Fed has finished raising rates. Small-cap stocks rose on Monday, with the Russell 2000 rallying about 1% and bringing its gain this year to almost 7%. «There is a lot of chop around here that is not necessarily meaningful,» said Tom Martin, a senior portfolio manager at GLOBALT Investments in Atlanta. «We have a really important Fed meeting coming up, and what makes it important is that all of a sudden, the market has decided that they're going to cut early next year.» The S&P 500 declined 0.54% to end the session at 4,569.78 points. The Nasdaq declined 0.84% to 14,185.49 points, while Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.11% to 36,204.44 points. Volume on U.S.

Manufacturing Platform Apple Align Qualcomm reports iPhones to have Apple 6G modems? Here's what report claims
Contrary to some rumors, Gurman affirms in his newsletter, «Power On», that Apple remains committed to advancing its 5G modem development. However, the company is concurrently directing attention to the burgeoning field of 6G. A notable job opening on Apple's official website discloses their pursuit of a cellular platform architect to contribute to these cutting-edge endeavors. In contrast to many smartphone manufacturers, Apple prefers to maintain self-sufficiency when it comes to essential components. Not only does Apple produce the processors for iPhones, but it also boasts its own operating system. A crucial hardware element, the modem facilitates a phone's connection to a cellular network. Although Apple presently relies on Qualcomm modems in its devices, the company is actively working towards a future where it can employ its own in-house modems for upcoming devices. This strategic shift aligns with Apple's commitment to greater control and autonomy over the integral parts of its products.

Provident Apple Tapestry show track country cover 'Lovin' it': McDonald's raises China bet, bucking Western firms' derisking trend
China business and expand aggressively in the face of a consumer slowdown and geopolitical tensions seems risky — but the potential pay-off is great, analysts say. Last month, the US-based burger maker cut a deal to repurchase the 28% stake in its China business Carlyle Group took in 2017, giving it a 48% share in $6 billion worth of operations that include Hong Kong and Macau. The move contrasts sharply with the prevailing trend of multinational corporations reeling back investments in China or even exiting altogether because of geopolitical and economic challenges. One advantage for McDonald's: its majority partner in the China business, CITIC, provides top-level political cover, said Jason Yu, greater China managing director of market research firm Kantar Worldpanel. «Having a very powerful Chinese state-owned conglomerate as a partner means they are not going to be at the forefront of the geopolitical situation; that is quite important,» Yu said. McDonald's China, Carlyle Group and CITIC declined to comment. Other consumer-facing U.S. firms, including Starbucks, Apple, Coach owner Tapestry and sportswear giant Nike, have remained similarly dedicated to the China market. Starbucks and Nike, which face increased competition from lower-priced domestic competitors, show the need to stay agile in order to protect and grow market share, analysts say. The coffee giant is sticking with expansion plans and launched a smaller cup size; Nike, by contrast, has offered localised, higher-end sneakers such as its «Year of the Rabbit» Dunk Lows. McDonald's has used funds from the Carlyle investment to double its restaurant count since 2017 to 5,500, and the country has become its second-largest market.
