Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) on Wednesday approved issuance of shares worth about Rs 2,379 crore on a preferential issue basis to promoters and qualified institutional buyers (QIBs). After a board meeting to consider the fund-raising proposal, the Aditya Birla Group company said it had approved the issuance of up to 4,08,72,580 equity shares at an issue price of Rs 317.45 per share, for an aggregate consideration of up to Rs 1,297.5 crore to the promoter group.

Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin prepared for the inaugural launch of its New Glenn rocket from Florida early on Monday but extended the mission countdown to study unspecified last-minute issues, as it neared a pivotal debut in Earth orbit to break into the satellite launch market, reported news agency Reuters.

Jeff Bezos in an interview with Reuters on Sunday said he does not think SpaceX CEO Elon Musk will use his close ties with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to undercut his space company Blue Origin, adding he feels «very optimistic» about the incoming administration's space agenda. «Elon has been very clear that he's doing this for the public interest and not for his personal gain. And I take him at face value,» said Bezos, founder of Blue Origin which rivals SpaceX in the space industry. Bezos is in Cape Canaveral, Florida for the debut launch of Blue Origin's New Glenn, a 30 story-tall rocket that is expected to chip away at SpaceX's market dominance and kick start Blue Origin's long-delayed entrance in the satellite launch business.

Kolkata Metro has decided to run additional services along the North-South corridor from January 13 on a trial basis, an official statement said. Fourteen additional services (seven up and down each) would be run from Monday to Saturday between Noapara and Kavi Subhash along the Blue Line in peak hours in the morning (9 am to 11 am) and evening (5 pm to 8 pm) on a trial basis. It is expected that this move will benefit the metro commuters, the statement said. Consequentially, commuters will now effectively get metro services at six minutes interval between Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash during the rush hours.
