Buy or sell stocks for today: Following mixed and choppy trade in Asian markets, Indian stock market ended lower on Wednesday. Nifty 50 index went down 140 points and closed at 19,671 levels, BSE Sensex corrected 551 points and ended at 65,877 mark whereas Bank Nifty index finished 520 points lower at 43,888 levels.

The movie «Killers of the Flower Moon», boasting a substantial budget of $200 million, is being distributed by Paramount Pictures, with support from Apple. It is worth noting that the film will eventually become available on Apple's streaming platform at a later date. Scorsese considers “Killers of the Flower Moon” “an internal spectacle.” The Oklahoma-set film, adapted from David Grann’s 2017 bestseller, might be called his first Western. But while developing Grann’s book, which chronicles the Osage murders and the birth of the FBI, Scorsese came to the realization that centering the film on federal investigator Tom White was a familiar a type of Western. «Killers of the Flower Moon», which in May earned rave reviews following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, is scheduled to be released in the US on October 20. It also stars Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser.

NEW DELHI : Indians will spend $410 billion on travel and accommodation by the end of the decade aided by a growing economy, swelling incomes and youthful population, a new study said. This is about three times the amount ($150 billion) spent in 2019, the last pre-covid year of normal consumption. Indians are keen on non-traditional accommodation such as hostels, campsites, vacation rentals and chalets, the study by Booking.com with knowledge partner McKinsey & Company said.

IIFL Finance on Wednesday reported a 32 per cent on-year growth in net income at Rs 526 crore for the quarter ended September 30, driven by higher interest income. Total income grew 33 per cent to Rs 1,599.3 crore, the company said, adding its asset quality improved with gross Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) falling to 1.8 per cent from 2.4 per cent and net NPAs improving to 1 per cent from 1.2 per cent.

Northern Railway has introduced 34 special trains starting Wednesday to clear the festive rush of passengers planning to travel to their home destinations. These special trains will make 377 trips — 351 towards the eastern part of the country and 26 towards the northern region — between October 18 and December 11. «Besides these 34 trains, additional coaches will be added to existing 69 trains and, in all, the Northern Railway will create 5.5 lakh additional berths and seats considering the increase in passenger movement during the festive session,» Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager, Northern Railway, told reporters.

Bandhan Bank on Wednesday said its net profit more than tripled for the quarter ended September 2023 to Rs 721 crore. The net profit rose by a massive 245%, compared with Rs 209 crore in the last-year period. Net interest income (NII) of the lender grew 11% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 2,443 crore in the second quarter from Rs 2,193 crore in the same quarter of last year. Operating profit for the quarter rose 2% to Rs 1,583 crore as against Rs 1,553 crore in the same period last year. The net interest margins stood at 7.2% in the reporting period, better than 7% in year-ago period.
