Between a digital asset crash and increasing competition for a dwindling number of investors, it has been a tough year for trading platform Coinbase Global. An update to one of crypto’s key networks could be good news the stock dearly needs.

The Ethereum network will be able to withstand censorship risks both in the short and long term, according to Ethereum community member and investor Ryan Berckmans.

Coinbase has launched a new asset in which Ether tokens are staked and wrapped through the crypto exchange.

Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, has predicted that cryptocurrency-related services would someday become commodities. He discussed the ambitions his organisation has to rely on subscription-based business models for revenue. In fact, Armstrong also suggested that the subscription model may contribute significantly to the company’s revenue. The strategy, however, has a long-term outlook and a 20-year vision.

 

The chief operating officer at Coinbase has joined identity firm Okta's board of directors, according to an announcement from August 23, 2022.

These latest breaches occurred less than a year after Coinbase settled similar claims by the California Attorney General and paid $300 million. The suit allege that the company was indifferent to consumers’ losses.

One user has filed a class-action lawsuit against crypto exchange Coinbase on behalf of account and wallet holders “who have had their accounts breached and incurred losses arising from the unauthorized transfer of assets.”
