GANDHINAGAR : The US and its allies are building on actions to crack down on efforts by Russia to evade sanctions, US treasury secretary Janet Yellen said on Sunday. Janet Yellen said on Sunday she was «eager» to work with China on areas of mutual interest, including debt restructurings for poorer countries, and that multilateral development banks needed reforms before capital increases could be considered. India will push its Group of 20 partners at a meeting it is hosting to support its proposal to raise the share of taxes multinational companies pay to countries where they earn «excess profits», government officials said. India's proposal, which has not been previously reported, could temper optimism among G20 members such as Australia and Japan that the meeting of finance ministers and central bankers in Gujarat would make progress on a long-awaited overhaul of global corporate taxation. UAE on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding for planning to establish Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) — Delhi in Abu Dhabi, which could be the second IIT abroad after Tanzania. North Korea's evolving nuclear and missile threats, the South's navy said. This came after the North launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).  North Korea fired its latest Hwasong-18 missile, which Pyongyang describes as the core of its nuclear strike force, off the east coast on Wednesday in what it said was a ‘strong practical warning’ to the adversaries, according to Reuters reports.  The navy stated that Sunday's trilateral drill was conducted in international waters between South Korea and Japan that brought together destroyers equipped with Aegis radar systems from the three countries.  Washington and its Asian allies have been working to improve their information-sharing system on North Korea's missiles, while South Korea and Japan are independently linked to US radar systems but not to each other's.

The deal have an edge to GE for offering technology to develop a higher powered 110 kn engine. India has a requirement of several hundred fighter jet engines to power not just the AMCA but other future aircraft like aircraft carrier-based fighters.

Manipur has extended the ban on the internet for another five days’ till July 20. Orders will be issued shortly to officers to report, and coordinate and cooperate with ministers to ensure proper facilities such as food, water, toilets and electricity at flood relief camps, Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control Saurabh Bharadwaj said.PWD Minister Atishi will look after facilities at camps in the North East Delhi district, while Gopal Rai has been deputed for Shahdara, Kailash Gahlot for South East Delhi and Imran Hussain for the Central Delhi district, he said.

To provide relief to retail consumers, the Centre is selling tomato at a discounted Rs 90 per kg in select cities like Delhi-NCR, Patna and Lucknow. National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) are selling tomato on behalf of the Centre through mobile vans.
