Hustles could yet trip up Indian startups if we don’t take due care
gig economy; or to start up a new business. In a not-so-positive (okay, negative) sense, it also means being sharp, pushy, unscrupulous, fake or downright scamming people. In an age when the meanings of words can be subjective— depending on the identity of the person using them and the specific context of their usage—it can be pretty difficult for a third person to understand what a ‘hustle’ is.

Amidst many fault lines, India has pulled off a superb G20 Summit
Global Financial Crisis to precipitate ponderous deliberations into precipitate, coordinated action, such as infusion of liquidity, provision of swap lines to provide emergency access to foreign currency, institution of elevated capital adequacy norms for banks and extra, loss-absorbing buffers of capital for globally systemically important financial institutions, accompanied by periodic stress tests by banking regulators. The world does not face that kind of a crisis.

No decision yet on quitting China's Belt and Road: Italy PM
China's Belt and Road investment plan, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Sunday, but doing so would not damage bilateral relations. «We have yet to make a decision,» Meloni told a press conference at the close of the G20 summit in New Delhi, a day after meeting for talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Should Rome decide to quit, it «would not compromise relations» with China, Meloni said. Critics say the Belt and Road plan is a Trojan horse to increase China's influence and Meloni is under pressure to exit, but hopes to do so without inflaming tensions. The deal automatically renews in March 2024 unless Italy opts out by the end of this year. Meloni said the government was «evaluating the merits» of being part of the trillion-dollar investment scheme, which debt-ridden Italy joined in 2019. It is the only one of the group of leading developed democracies to have signed up. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said earlier this month that the Belt and Road initiative «has not produced the results we were hoping for». The Italian PM is tipped to travel to Beijing for a state visit in the next few months, or at the start of next year, but would not be drawn on a possible date. «It makes more sense to go to China when we have more elements about our bilateral cooperation and how to develop it,» she said. Meloni's meeting with Li, their first face-to-face, came as a broad alliance of states at the G20 unveiled ambitious plans to create a modern-day Spice Route linking Europe, the Middle East and India, which signatories hope will offer a counterbalance to lavish Chinese infrastructure spending. Some analysts expect Meloni to pull out of Belt and Road while boosting other existing Italy-China accords. The meeting

Sri Lanka slashes Asia Cup ticket prices to fill empty stadiums
Sri Lanka Cricket slashed ticket prices for the Asia Cup by up to 95 percent on Sunday after costs were hiked 40-fold and matches were played in near-empty stadiums. Tickets for one-day internationals in crisis-hit Sri Lanka have generally cost around 250 rupees ($0.78) previously. That was hiked to 10,000 rupees for the Asia Cup, which is being organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board despite largely taking place in Sri Lanka, and fans in the cricket-mad island country have stayed away in droves. Barely 7,000 home supporters turned out for Sri Lanka's Super Four clash against Bangladesh on Saturday at the 35,000-capacity R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, leaving the hosts facing the embarrassing sight of ranks of empty seats. In an attempt to lure them, back Sri Lanka Cricket announced a price cut of up to 95 percent Sunday for all remaining Super Four games, including the day's marquee clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, with tickets now costing as little as 500 rupees.
