Our presidency of G20 are inclusive and decisive: PM Modi
Narendra Modi Friday said India’s presidency of the G20 has been “inclusive, ambitious, decisive, and action-oriented” and underlined that the country lays great emphasis on a human-centric approach to progress. “I look forward to productive discussions with world leaders over the next two days. It is my firm belief that the New Delhi G20 Summit will chart a new path in humancentric and inclusive development,” the PM posted on social media site X (formerly Twitter) on the eve of the two-day summit. In a series of tweets, he also highlighted that it is the first time India is hosting the G20 summit and said during its G20 presidency India “actively voiced the developmental concerns of the Global South”. Modi said the theme of this summit, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family, One Future’ is rooted in the Indian cultural ethos and resonates with the country’s worldview that the whole world is one family. He reiterated his recent remarks that the time has come for a humancentric approach to growth instead of a GDP-centric one. “India also places great emphasis on a humancentric way of furthering progress. It is important to emulate (Mahatma) Gandhi ji’s mission of serving the underprivileged, the very last person in the queue,” he tweeted.
