Accor will open 30 hotels in India totalling about 5,500 keys in the next three to five years. The chain currently has 62 hotels in India totalling around 11,000 rooms, but that’s not enough, Bazin said. “I have been a big believer in India, but we have 2000 hotels in France and less than 100 hotels in India. Going by the size of the country, we should have well over 1000 hotels here. I know this is going to take very long but it should happen in the future and it is going to be worth it. We will need more Accor employees here across many different layers over time and we will have to give them greater decision-making powers," he added.
