Their demat accounts were erroneously frozen in 2017 as Pradeep Mehta happened to be one of the promoters of Shrenuj & Co at one point of time. Shrenuj could not file its quarterly earnings for April-June, July-September and October-December in 2016.

The chargesheet, spread over 1,000 pages, was filed before the Patiala House Court in June and the court took its cognisance last month. A supplementary was filed in July.

RG Kar hospital Sandip Ghosh has been operating a "criminal nexus" along with the other «co-accused» for «wrongful gains», according to initial findings of the CBI's probe into financial irregularities at the medical establishment here, an officer claimed on Saturday. The central probe agency had also placed the findings before a special court here during a hearing earlier in the week, he said. The CBI had arrested Ghosh, two vendors, and his security person for their alleged involvement in financial irregularities at the state-run hospital, where the rape-murder of a young doctor has triggered nationwide protests. «These (two) vendors were known to Ghosh since he was with the Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. We have found that they granted the contracts of RGKMC&H (RG Kar Medical College and Hospital) only because of their proximity with Ghosh,» the officer said.

The rules allow the central government to discharge probationers from service if they fail «to pass the re-examination...» or «if the central government is satisfied that the probationer was ineligible for recruitment to the Service or is unsuitable for being a member of the Service», among others.

loan fraud case against an insolvent automotive equipment manufacturing company, the ED said Saturday. The action comes after the federal agency arrested Amtek Group promoter Arvind Dham in July. The company is under liquidation. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked a case against the company and its promoters under various sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), taking cognisance of a CBI FIR and a direction issued to it by the Supreme Court in February to probe the case. The IDBI Bank and the Bank of Maharashtra had filed a CBI complaint against the accused for «illegally diverting» bank loans and causing loss to these lenders, the ED said in a statement. The bank «fraud» is estimated to be about Rs 27,000 crore.
