Investors are awaiting US inflation data on Wednesday.

The fate of the Indian online skill-gaming industry is likely to be decided at the upcoming 50th GST Council meeting on July 11. The government has recognised online skill-based gaming as a promising sector and has also provided support in the form of favourable policies. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTy) has introduced the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (IT Rules), providing regulatory clarity and a boost to the sector. However, UK consumers will have to wait longer before they can get their hands on it, as per a Bloomberg report. It mentions Apple's plans to expand internationally by the end of 2024. The UK and Canada are identified as the “initial international markets,” with Europe and Asia following soon after. Nevertheless, the report clarifies that Apple has not made a final decision on this matter. The slow rollout can be attributed to various factors. Firstly, the product's untested nature and its whopping-high price tag of $3,500 make it one of Apple's most expensive consumer devices. Additionally, the logistics involved in selling the headset pose a challenge. Apple intends to offer a more personalized experience by requiring customers to schedule an appointment at one of its 270-plus US locations. During the appointment, customers' heads will be measured using a physical device or an iPhone app currently in development to ensure a perfect fit and optimal light blocking. Apple aims to provide a superior user experience for such a high-end product, but this approach limits its sales opportunities. Third-party distribution of Vision Pro is not planned until at least 2025.

Central banks are at «the end of the beginning» in their battle against inflation, as several factors keep core prices persistently high, according to top Societe Generale economist Kokou Agbo-Bloua.

NEW DELHI : A meeting between Indian and French tax authorities on the sidelines of a recent G20 summit has set off alarm bells among foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) based in France, three people with direct knowledge of the matter said. The meeting, around potential tweaks to the double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA) between India and France, has led to apprehension among foreign funds that India may soon renegotiate the treaty to eliminate the capital gains tax exemption. Currently, France and the Netherlands are the only major jurisdictions benefiting from a tax treaty with India that grants exemption from capital gains tax on share sales.
