IT engineering companies on acquisition spree to boost their BFSI business play
This week IT engineering services provider L&T Tech Services signed an agreement to acquire California-based Intelliswift for a total consideration of $110 million. Amit Chadha, the company’s chief executive and managing director, told ET that the firm plans to double the revenue of the acquired company (whose annual revenue is about $100 million) in the next three years. While half of Intelliswift’s revenue comes from high tech, the rest comes from fintech and retail, along with the private equity channel. Persistent Systems in September said it was acquiring select assets from SoHo Dragon for $4.7 million. SoHo Dragon is a Wall Street-based consulting and staffing firm primarily in the business of providing IT services to BFSI customers. The Pune based firm said at the time, “The acquisition of the select assets will help in consolidating the relationship with a strategic and large customer in the BFSI domain.”

Siemens AG is aiming to tap the AI data centres opportunity in India that has created a need for sustainable electrification and cooling solutions, a senior executive said. “Data centres are growing significantly, double-digit around the world,” Peter Koerte, member of the managing board, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer at Siemens AG told ET. “The good news for us is being an outfitter of data centres, all the electrification comes pretty much from two or three companies. And so, investors would argue that we and Schneider are the ones that stand to benefit the most.”

venture capital firm, has made the final close of its Pavestone Technology Fund, securing a total corpus of Rs 816 crore. Railways switches to fast track for Kavach rollout
Indian Railways has fast-tracked deployment of automatic train protection (ATP) system Kavach on a fifth of its network, with contracts for installing the system on 10,000 locomotives and 1,105 route kilometres (RKM) of tracks set to be awarded this month, said officials. The national transporter has also thrown its weight behind a 2030 Kavach Rollout Plan that targets manifold ramp-up of installed capacity, they said. «Bids have been invited for 14,735 RKM while over 1,500 RKM of Kavach is operational. Work is also underway on 3,000 RKM of tracks for Kavach deployment,» said a senior official, who did not wish to be identified.
