UPS FIVE Citizens Extreme country reports Lock your biometrics, prevent hacking linked to Aadhaar card: Ritesh Bhatia
Ritesh Bhatia, Cybercrime Investigator & Cybersecurity Consultant, says “from a user point of view, there is nothing much you can do except for locking your biometrics. I think that is something that every citizen of the country needs to do because somewhere or the other, the fingerprints can be stolen.” There are many reports about hacking of the biometrics linked with the Aadhaar card. Your view? When this entire debate on Aadhaar was going on, we were very concerned about it. We raised these questions that biometrics can be hacked and they said, no, it cannot be done and today it is a reality. It has been happening just like five years back we thought Deepfakes cannot happen but very soon that is going to become a part and parcel of your life. In fact, some of the anchors have already started creating Deepfake versions of themselves. So, what is happening over here is that there is something called AEPS, which is the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. Now, what exactly is it? Now, if you go to some small villages where there are no ATMs or banks or are at quite a distance, there are micro ATMs or the POS devices, as we call it. They are very small. You just need to give your fingerprint over there, authenticate yourself and you will be given the money. Now, the money that is given is just Rs 10,000. Of course, you can withdraw more but the maximum limit is Rs 10,000 at one time and Rs 50,000 in the day, which means five times you can do this.

UPS Digital Extreme HSBC performer Amit Sachdeva on triggers that will make FIIs come back to India equities
Amit Sachdeva, India Equity Strategist, HSBC Securities, says “given the stable growth macro and where the world is today, India continues to be a very attractive destination for FIIs and that is not going to go away with one month of small short-term volatility or event. The larger game is set. If you look at the longer picture, what gives you confidence that India should do well? It is seen as a more structural market. But another factor that has worked in India's favour is that when you survive a crisis, the resilience is proven.” What are the triggers that will make FIIs come back to India equities. This is one of the largest selling sprees that we have seen in recent history, consecutive 14 days of sell-off from FIIs. What would have to change on ground for them to come back and would it only be a function of the way the US yield pans out? It is largely that factor, to be honest. If you look at FII flows and put that in the context of bull runs, we are about 0.6% of the market cap. In the last 12 months, every time you look at FII inflows, you have to look at accumulated flow of last 12 months because you may see some incessant flows in the last six months assuming that is the massive inflow that has already come, but it is true because the base is very benign. We are at about 0.6% of market cap which is way below the bull run averages at 1.7% and perhaps 3% of the bull run peak. So, in some sense, the base is extremely benign. We have seen large outflows last year, to be honest, minus 17 billion to be precise.

UPS ETF Extreme SUN NIFTY reports 3 pharma stocks to buy on dips; 3 banks that may outperform: Sanjiv Bhasin
Sanjiv Bhasin, Director, IIFL Securities, says “pharma is a proxy to a weak rupee and a stronger dollar becomes a very good alibi. Thirdly, the business is doing extremely well. So, Aurobindo, Lupin and Sun Pharma on declines could be a very good basket. More than that, if you cannot choose the stocks, better do a SIP in the likes of SBI or a Nippon fund. They have very good pharma funds which have got a basket of stocks. So, an ETF over there would be a very good idea if you want exposure into pharma.” What is your view on the pharma space? The latest note by Macquarie seems to be really advocating largecaps like Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy's, etc. But given the kind of move that we have already seen, what is your outlook on pharma at the current juncture? Pharma has been a darling of the market in the last two months after most people had written it off post Covid. But the results and the under-ownership, particularly of stocks like Auro Pharma and Lupin, which are two stocks which we have accumulated – a disclosure. We think that the largecap pharma is a very comforting space given that IT still has some of the headwinds, pharma as a proxy to a weak rupee and a stronger dollar becomes a very good alibi. Thirdly, the business is doing extremely well. So, Aurobindo, Lupin and Sun Pharma on declines could be a very good basket.
