Cong MLA accepts threatening to quit citing 'self-respect' at CLP meeting, says did not apologise
Patil on Sunday admitted that he threatened to resign during the recent Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, citing «self-respect», but said he did not apologise for writing a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister highlighting his concerns. The CLP meeting on Thursday evening was significant as it came amid reports that as many as 30 legislators have written to Siddaramaiah and the party leadership expressing concern over non-implementation of development works in their constituencies. The behaviour and conduct of certain ministers has upset some legislators, Patil said, as he warned that their fight would continue, if it is not corrected.

Good Omens Season 2 finale: Aziraphale and Crowley getting romantic, and the cliffhanger
Good Omens Season 2, starring Michael Sheen, David Tennant, and Jon Hamm, premiered on July 28, 2023, on Amazon Prime Video. Here’s what happens in the second season. In Good Omens, Sheen and Tennant reprise their roles as best pals Aziraphale and Crowley, who fight the apocalypse and demons. Although adapted from the book, the second season of Good Omes is a little different from the printed matter. The series, which was supposed to be a ‘limited edition’, was renewed for a second season. Neil Gaiman had then said there will be a sequel, but Terry Pratchett passed away in 2015. “It’s 31 years since Good Omens was published, which means it’s 32 years since Terry Pratchett and I lay in our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room at a World Fantasy Convention, and plotted the sequel,” Neil Gaiman said in the statement from Amazon. “I got to use bits of the sequel in Good Omens — that’s where our angels came from. Terry’s not here any longer, but when he was, we had talked about what we wanted to do with Good Omens, and where the story went next,” he revealed.

Rural poll violence carried out as per instructions of Mamata, says Anurag Thakur
Anurag Thakur on Saturday alleged that violence in West Bengal during the recently concluded panchayat elections was carried out by TMC activists as per instructions of Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee. Thakur, who is in Kolkata to felicitate BJP's winning candidates in the rural polls, also claimed that over 57 people have been killed in clashes during the panchayat elections. He claimed that the BJP has doubled the number of seats in the rural polls as compared to the previous elections and the result is an indication that Banerjee's «days at the helm of things are numbered». «I would like to say that in the recently concluded panchayat polls, over 57 people have been killed. To fulfill Mamata Banerjee's wishes, people were killed. The entire law and order in West Bengal is in shambles. Mamata didi, your party leaders under your instruction restored to hooliganism (during this panchayat polls),» Thakur told reporters here. The BJP leader alleged that Banerjee, for the last 8-9 years, has been giving shelter to hooligans and criminals for her political benefit. «Compared to the last (rural) elections, this time the BJP has doubled the number of seats. This shows that people have started fighting back. Results show that Mamata Banerjee's days here are slowly heading to an end,» Thakur said.
