UPS Provident FIVE Aviat country exclusive Agency Set up separate security agency for airports, clear CISF’s Rs 4.7k cr dues: Par Panel
parliamentary panel has recommended setting up a specialised security agency for airports with more than one-sixth of CISF units exclusively deployed there. This should be done by the civil aviation ministry in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs, it said. As airports owe more than Rs 4,700 crore to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) — of which over Rs 3,000 crore is from 16 joint venture airports — the parliamentary standing committee on transport, tourism and culture chaired by YSR Congress leader V Vijaysai Reddy has sought reasons for it and ask for its earliest clearance. Noting that 66 units of CISF or 18.7% of its total units are deployed at airports only, the panel in its report highlighted the need for a separate security agency as the civil aviation sector has seen an exponential growth and will grow at a faster space in near future, which will enhance the need for manpower to provide security. “The Committee, therefore, recommends that the Ministry of Civil Aviation may examine the feasibility of setting up a specialized security agency for airports only, in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs,” the report states.

FIVE Gap voice BJP tries to present NDA as robust and vibrant grouping
NDA MPs’ meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to holding workshops for spokespersons from allied parties and formally inviting the ruling alliance leaders to attend a prayer meeting on the death anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP is working to present NDA as an active and vibrant entity, in contrast to its redundant state in the recent past. Perhaps for the first time, a formal invitation was extended to NDA allies to attend a prayer meeting at ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial of Vajpayee, who spearheaded the first NDA government at the Centre. Several NDA leaders, including NCP’s Praful Patel, Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel, NPP’s Agatha Sangma, HAM’s Jitan Ram Manjhi and several others, attended the meeting. This is the third event where BJP has engaged with its NDA allies, after it held an NDA meet last month –– held after a gap of almost five years. During this period, the idea of the alliance appeared redundant as BJP had got a massive majority in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Modi, during his interactions with NDA MPs, suggested that they work as one team and speak in one voice. All these efforts from BJP came amid Opposition parties, despite their differences, managing to present a united picture under the INDIA bloc.
