cryptocurrency markets were majorly trading in the red on Wednesday ahead of the FOMC meeting minutes. Bitcoin (BTC) fell 0.61% to $30,800, whereas Ethereum (ETH) was below the $1,950 level. BTC volume stood at approximately $10.9 billion, falling 32% in the last 24 hours. «Bitcoin, after surpassing the US$31,000 mark yesterday, is currently consolidating around the US$30,800 level as investors eagerly anticipate the release of the FOMC minutes today,» Edul Patel, Co-founder, and CEO at Mudrex, said. «Presently, neither the bulls nor the bears have a clear upper hand as Bitcoin trades within the middle range between the support and resistance levels. If the price closes above the US$31,000 zone in the coming days, there is a possibility of Bitcoin climbing above the US$32,000 mark in the near future,» Edul added.

The cryptocurrency market has fallen by 1.9% today, with its total cap dropping to $1.23 trillion in the past 24 hours as investors de-risk in anticipation of this week's FOMC meeting.

Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency, reversed its modest losses from the previous day and regained traction above the $30,000 level once more. Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency, broke through the $1,900 barrier and outperformed Bitcoin.

Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, has failed to maintain its upward momentum and has fallen below $24,000 in the last 24 hours, dropping from its peak of $25,100 due to a significant reversal in the cryptocurrency market. Following Bitcoin's lead, Ethereum has also seen a gradual decline in the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin's (BTC) price has been in a down-trend since the $69,000 all-time high on Nov. 10, when the the Labor report showed inflation pushing above 6.2% in the United States. While this news could be beneficial for non-inflationary assets, the VanEck physical Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) denial by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Nov. 12 threw some investors off-guard.

Bitcoin (BTC) bulls are once again on the defensive foot after the breakout momentum that put the price above $50,000 on the weekend evaporated and pulled the price under $47,000.
