Adam Johnson cause of death: What happened to ice hockey player?
Adam Johnson's death in England has shocked everyone and now a man has been apprehended by the police in connection with the incident. The individual in custody faces charges of suspicion of manslaughter. However, the identity has not yet been disclosed. The arrest follows an investigation by South Yorkshire Police into the circumstances surrounding 29-year-old Johnson's death on October 31, characterized as a «freak accident» by the Nottingham Panthers. Johnson, a player for the Panthers, tragically lost his life when his neck was cut by the skate blade of Matt Petgrave from the Sheffield Steelers during an on-ice collision. Following the incident, Johnson was rushed to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield by ambulance, where he was declared dead, as stated in the Sheffield coroner’s report. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Johnson's cause of death was a neck injury, according to the police. This unfortunate incident has prompted increased scrutiny of player safety in the sport. In response, the English Ice Hockey Association has mandated the use of neck guards for all players during on-ice activities, starting from December 31. Adam Johnson hailed from Minnesota and had a brief stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Last week, public and private memorials were held for Johnson in Hibbing, Minn., with a heartfelt eulogy shared by his fiancee, Ryan Wolfe.

Israel uncovers alleged Hamas tunnel connected to Gaza's Rantisi Children's Hospital | Video
Israel's defense forces progressed into a ground invasion after issuing alerts to civilians in North Gaza, with the aim to ‘eliminate’ Hamas fighters and destroy what they claim the tunnel network operated by the Hamas. While the move has been condemned by world leaders and Israel has been urged to avoid civilian casualty, the defense forces have only intensified their attacks paralyzing Northern Gaza, killing over 11,100 Palestinians.

Money vs health: What would you choose in Samvat 2080?
The other question that naturally emerges after this is, what does it takes to remain healthy? The answer is that all it requires is good exercise, a healthy diet and keeping mentally fit. But is it really that simple? Probably not. That is because we may need more discipline to work out daily or have the healthiest food; we often work in stressful environments with the pressures of deadlines.

Looking for power play? Buy these 5 stocks as SIP, says Sanjiv Bhasin
Sanjiv Bhasin, Director, IIFL Securities, says people are talking of largecap underperformance. But the stars have been REC, PFC, NTPC, and Coal India. While people kept doubting the PSU rally, they kept going higher. There is still more steam there. I would not advocate buying fresh ad hoc, one can do SIP in some of these stocks. These are on a multi-year high, which means there is much under participation, particularly from mutual funds and FIIs that these stocks are going to be huge outperformers. Is there a trade in the short term in any of the jewellery, retail or textile stocks, considering everyone I have spoken to, referred to very long lines outside big stores. Correct. I think Reliance Retail will be the biggest beneficiary. They are adding about 800 outlets per quarter. One thing which is getting unnoticed by the market is how fast Reliance Retail is expanding into the market share and gaining market share. Earlier, they had about 2,000 outlets, now it is 800 per quarter. You can imagine how fast this multiplicity will be and that caters to all needs.

Delhi air quality back in 'severe' category two days after Diwali
Delhi witnessed a return to the 'severe' category of air pollution on Tuesday. The national capital was enveloped in a thick layer of smog, causing reduced visibility. The AQI readings were alarming, with RK Puram at 417, Punjabi Bagh at 410, ITO at 430, and Jahangirpuri at 428. Ghaziabad, neighboring Delhi, also reported 'very poor' air quality according to the Central Pollution Control Board. Despite a relatively better air quality on Diwali day, which was the best in eight years, Delhi's air quality deteriorated to the 'poor' category on Monday. This reversal was attributed to the late-night bursting of crackers, violating the ban imposed. As air quality worsens, a political blame game has ensued, with the AAP and BJP accusing each other. The smoky haze returned on Monday morning, negating the positive impact of rain. In response to the escalating pollution levels, authorities at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, a government facility in the city, have decided to establish a dedicated Out-Patient Department (OPD) to address illnesses related to pollution.

US President Joe Biden says Gaza hospitals 'must be protected'
Joe Biden said hospitals in the Gaza Strip must be protected and he hoped for «less intrusive» action by Israel as Israeli tanks advanced to the gates of the besieged enclave's main hospital. Israeli tanks have taken up positions outside Al Shifa Hospital, Gaza City's main medical center, which Israel says sits atop of tunnels housing a headquarters for Hamas fighters who are using patients as shields. Hamas denies the Israeli claim. Israel launched its war against Hamas after the Islamist Palestinian group's Oct. 7 rampage into southern Israel.

Delhi's RML Hospital to open special pollution OPD
Delhi's air pollution deteriorating, authorities of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, a government hospital in the city, have decided to establish a special Out-Patient Department (OPD) for pollution-related illnesses. «We have decided that a special OPD will run for pollution-related illnesses where comprehensive care can be given to the patients and will include a multi-departmental clinic because pollution affects multiple organs,» said Dr Ajay Shukla, Director of RML Hospital. He said that a special OPD has been made in view of the rising number of patients because of pollution. «Five departments, including ENT, skin, respiratory tract, eye, and psychiatric departments, will be there. The OPD will run on Monday afternoons from 2 pm to 4 pm...Special OPD has been made as there is almost a 30% rise in the number of patients because of pollution,» he added. Meanwhile, following the pollution review meeting with the officers of the Environment Department at the Delhi Secretariat, Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday announced that the anti-pollution measures under GRAP IV regulations will remain enforced in Delhi until the next order of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
