India Fintech Foundation (IFF)—the proposed self-regulatory organisation (SRO) for the fintech industry, also known as the SRO-Fintech Development Foundation (SROFT-DF). Present at the the launch event was Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, Shri NS Viswanathan, former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and Non-Executive Chairman of Axis Bank and Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, DPIIT. Kant formally unveiled the IFF logo, marking the official inauguration of the Foundation. The proposed SRO aims to bridge the regulatory gap by enabling innovation while ensuring responsible conduct and consumer protection. The chief guests emphasised the need for inclusive fintech growth anchored in effective industry-led self-regulation. Viswanathan will serve as Chairman of the IFF Board, guiding the long-term vision of the proposed SRO.

Stinger missiles to boost its defence capabilities amid growing concerns about China's military activities. The Army and Navy each ordered 250 Stinger missiles in 2019 and 2015, respectively. However, Taiwanese forces urgently require more effective countermeasures and deterrence, prompting the Army to order 1,985 more Stinger missiles from the US for approximately NT$55.54 billion,Taiwan News reported, citing Liberty Times. The Army will procure 549 launch systems and 549 identification, friend or foe (IFF) systems. The missiles are expected to be delivered by 2031, according to the MND's 2025 budget report.

GST taxpayers will now have the option to amend outward supply or sales return form GSTR-1 before payment of taxes for a month or quarter. The GST Council in its meeting on Saturday had recommended providing a new optional facility by way of Form GSTR-1A to facilitate taxpayers to amend the details in Form GSTR-1 for a tax period and/or to declare additional details. GSTR-1A will, however, have to be filed before filing of return in GSTR-3B for the said tax period. This will facilitate the taxpayer to add any particulars of supply of the current tax period missed out in reporting in form GSTR-1 of the said tax period or to amend any particulars already declared in GSTR-1 of the current tax period (including those declared in IFF, for the first and second months of a quarter, if any, for quarterly taxpayers), to ensure that correct liability is auto-populated in GSTR-3B.

Lowe's Battlefield IFF Anti-GPS jamming, identification devices developed by IIT Jammu nearing completion: Officials
anti-GPS jamming and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) devices, are part of the design and development being undertaken by IIT Jammu and CST Advanced Systems Private Limited in a joint collaboration. «We have a collaboration with IIT Jammu in which we are working on six to seven projects. Two of these projects are reaching completion,» CST Advanced Systems General Manager Colonel (Retd) Anil J Alex told PTI on Friday. He said one of the two projects reaching completion is an anti-GPS jamming device, which will «save our drones, vehicles and other GPS enabled devices from the enemy» jamming them. The anti-GPS jamming device is a small-sized, light weight, low powered device suitable to be retrofitted to protect any navigation system, officials said. Colonel (Retd) Alex said the second project nearing completion is the IFF device, which will help the Army in detecting its own forces in the battlefield during counter-insurgency or counter-terrorism operations. «It works on RF (Radio Frequency) mesh.
