Skill Development & Entrepreneurship on Monday said it has entered into a partnership with Meta to launch an AI Assistant for the Skill India Mission and establish five centres of excellence in virtual reality and mixed reality. Under the partnership, an innovative AI-powered chatbot powered by Meta's open-source Llama model will be developed to enhance the learner experience on the Skill India Digital (SID) Portal. Moreover, the five centres of excellence at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jodhpur, Chennai, and Kanpur will equip learners and instructors with the latest VR technology to learn and enhance existing skills in a safe, immersive, and engaging environment, according to a statement.

Tax officers were notified of this decision through an internal directive dated October 3, 2024, which is not publicly available. This means that even if you have already received a tax refund for the financial year 2023-24, your case could still be selected for investigation if the tax department suspects any irregularities. “Suspicious clusters, comprising of ITRs in which common email ID has been reported, has been identified based on certain rules. Details of such high-risk clusters are being disseminated to the respective CRU (Central Registry Unit) Nodal officer 1 for the purpose of verification of suspicion that false claims of refunds have been made in an organised manner or through a single key person,” said the Income Tax Department on the said internal order.

In another separate order, the court has also directed the lender to remove the company’s name from the list of ‘wilful defaulters’ and has also directed the bank to recall any information sent by it to any Credit Information Company declaring Pune Buildtech as wilful defaulters. “It is not in dispute that the entire settlement amount as mentioned in the Consent Terms (Rs 703.35 Crores) has been paid by the petitioners to Bank of India sometime in June 2024,” observed the division bench of Justice BP Colabawalla and Justice Somasekhar Sundaresan in its order of October 8. “Despite this, and after receiving the entire amount, we fail to understand how Bank of India could continue with the proceedings initiated for declaring the Petitioners as wilful defaulters after issuing a ‘No Dues Certificate’ to the petitioners (Pune Buildtech).”
