Meta partners with IT ministry to set up Centre for Generative AI at IIT Jodhpur
Meta has announced a partnership with the ministry of electronics and information technology to set up a Centre for Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), the latter said. The IT ministry said the Centre for Generative AI, to be set up at the Indian Institute of Jodhpur, will work towards advancing open-source AI in India. “The partnership will enable development of indigenous AI applications, advance skill development in AI, boost research capabilities with the aim of contributing to India’s AI mission of ensuring tech sovereignty and the vision of building AI solutions that are tailor made for India,” IT ministry said.

Rahul Gandhi on Saturday expressed concern over the recent sharp decline in the Indian stock markets and said the party must evolve ways to protect the interests of youngsters, the salaried class and the common people who have invested their money. City Champions Summit by Josh Talks celebrates 16 startups in urban landscape sector
City Champions Summit, hosted by Josh Talks, on Saturday, 16 innovative startups were celebrated for their groundbreaking work in transforming India’s urban landscapes. The Summit is supported by Omidyar Network India and was held at The Claridges, New Delhi. The event convened the leaders in urban development underscoring the future of sustainable, inclusive cities. This summit culminates a three-month accelerator program which was designed by Josh Talks in partnership with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park with the aim nurture 16 impact startups working across sectors such as climate action, transport, city planning, energy and more. These startups were handpicked through a rigorous evaluation process from over 350 applicants. The City Champions program began in April this year by inviting applications across 8 thematic sectors. The accelerator program kicked-off in late July and included exposure to 16 startups through virtual sessions with industry leaders, 1:1 mentorship from IIM-C experts, access to funders and potential business partners through physical boot camps held across Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi.

Meta teams up with IndiaAI to advance open source AI innovation, R&D, skill development
Meta on Friday announced a strategic collaboration with 'IndiaAI' at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to drive advancement of open source AI innovation, R&D and skill development in India. This includes the establishment of the Center for Generative AI, Shrijan at IIT Jodhpur and the launch of the 'AI for Skilling and Capacity Building' initiative, in partnership with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The partnership will enable development of indigenous AI applications, and advance skill development in AI. It would also bolster research capabilities with the aim of contributing to India's AI mission of ensuring tech sovereignty and the vision of AI solutions tailor made for India. «Aimed at propelling the advancement of open source artificial intelligence (AI) in India, as part of its Memorandum of Understanding with the 'IndiaAI', Meta today announced a strategic collaboration with IndiaAI at the MeitY,» according to a release.
