Manisha Koirala reveals she was left behind by friends during her battle with cancer, admits she felt ‘very lonely’
cancer diagnosis while devastating, can sometimes help you see life in a new perspective and helps you distinguish who are your true well-wishers and who are fairweather friends. In a recent interview, Bollywood diva Manisha Koirala reflected on her journey of surviving cancer and how the difficult diagnosis and her battle with terminal illness made her confront some rather uncomfortable truths. In a candid chat with NDTV, the ‘Heeramandi’ star said, “It’s been a journey. It has also been a learning experience. I really believed that I had multiple friends. I thought partying together, travelling together, having fun together, people will sit with me in my pain. That was not so. People are not capable of sitting with anybody’s pain, let alone their own pain. We always try to find excuses to not feel pain. We want to escape pain. That’s human nature. I found myself very lonely, and I realised that only my immediate family was around me,” she revealed. The ‘Akele Hum, Akele Tum’ actress revealed that although her community — the Koirala clan was huge and influential in Nepal, almost nobody came to her aide, and the only people who offered unconditional support was her parents, her brother and his family. “ I realised that when everybody leaves me, these are the people who will be with me. My priority is my immediate family, no matter what. They come first in my life, everybody else later..” she revealed.

Ladakh military standoff entered its fifth year, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said India hopes for a resolution of the remaining issues with China and asserted that a return to normal bilateral ties hinges on peace and tranquillity at the border. In an exclusive interview to PTI, he said the remaining issues mainly pertained to "patrolling rights" and «patrolling abilities». Specifically asked when a resolution to the row can be expected in the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks to Newsweek magazine last month, Jaishankar said he only provided a «big picture» viewpoint on the matter. «We would hope that there is a resolution of the remaining issues out there. These issues mainly pertain to patrolling rights and patrolling abilities there,» he said.

Important for India to have stable leadership as world will witness very stormy churn: EAM Jaishankar
world will witness a «very, very stormy» churn because of conflicts, power shifts and sharpening competition in this decade, which makes it all the more important for India to have a stable and mature leadership, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said. In an exclusive interview to PTI late Thursday, Jaishankar painted a picture of the world radically different from the one we are living in now by the end of 2020s when asked to draw on his nearly 50 years of experience in diplomacy and politics to give an assessment of the global power balance. «Multiple conflicts, tensions, divides! With all these variables that I am putting to you, I am painting to you, actually, a very, very stormy international scene for the balance of the decade,» said Jaishankar, a former ambassador to China and the United States, who was tapped for the political role by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019. Jaishankar especially referred to the declining influence of the United States, the conflict in Ukraine, the fighting in Gaza, attacks in the Red Sea, tensions in the South China Sea, the challenge of terrorism in different geographies and advent of new technologies as the drivers of the «churn».
