Whereas altcoins, such as Cardano, Avalanche, Polkadot, and Polygon rose over 3%. «In the past 24 hours, the overall market displayed volatility, especially after the launch of the BTC spot ETF. Notably, Spot Bitcoin ETFs achieved a trading volume surpassing $4.5 billion on their first day, indicating positive market sentiment,» said, CoinDCX Research Team. Meanwhile, overnight BTC touched a new higher high at $49,000 but experienced a quick drop to $46,000, influenced by higher-than-expected CPI data.

Whereas, altcoins, such as Internet Computer and Toncoin, fell 7.4% and 2.7%, respectively. «In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin rallied to $44,000 following reports on Thursday about the SEC's final comments to issuers, hinting at possible approval for Bitcoin spot ETF applications. This recovery reversed Wednesday's crash, restoring optimism among market participants,» said Edul Patel, CEO of Mudrex. «Currently, BTC is consolidating at $43,500, and the upcoming SEC decision could add significance to Bitcoin's price movement. A successful establishment of $43,900 as support and a close above it may signal an uptrend,» Edul added.

Investor focus has been squarely on whether the US securities regulator will soon approve a spot Bitcoin ETF, which would open up the Bitcoin market to millions of investors.

Additionally, BTC dominance continues to decline, which is favourable for altcoins. BTC needs to clear the key resistance at $44,500 for further upward movement, said CoinDCX Research Team.

CoinDCX Research Team said, «BTC has been moving sideways within the range of $41,900 and $44,500 over the past few days, currently sitting at the incline trendline support. If it sustains at this level, there might be a chance for another touch of the resistance level at $44,500.»

XRP, Avalanche, Dogecoin and Polkadot were trading in the red, while BNB, Polygon, Tron, Litecoin, and Chainlink were in the green. Meanwhile, the global cryptocurrency market cap declined 0.21% to around $1.65 trillion in the last 24 hours. At 12:23 pm, bluechip crypto token BTC was trading 0.6% lower at $42,450, while Ethereum was down 0.2% at $2,227. Altcoins, such as BNB, and Polygon (MATIC) jumped 10.4%, and 20.3%, respectively. BTC underwent slight selling pressure after it crossed the $43k mark. However, on-chain data shows that Bitcoin mining hashrate has continued its uptrend and even reached a new all-time high. At the same time, the global cryptocurrency market cap declined by 1.7% in the last 24 hours to approximately $1.54 trillion. «Bitcoin maintains its position above the $40,000 mark despite some liquidations ahead of the US interest rate decision scheduled for today. Key resistance for BTC is at the $41,450 level, while support is identified at $39,500,» said Edul Patel, CEO of Mudrex.
