₹251.50 on BSE after the 800-MW power facility for NTPC started operation, and brokerage ICICI Direct Research maintained a 'buy' rating for the NTPC stock with a target price of ₹300 and saw potential upside of 24% from Wednesday's closing price of ₹240. NTPC shares today opened at intraday low of ₹239.20 apiece.

Avenue Supermarts Ltd. gained 0.45 per cent to Rs 3685.45 in Friday's session as of 01:03PM (IST) even as the equity benchmark Sensex traded 416.25 points higher at 65924.57. Earlier in the day, the stock witnessed a gap up start to the session.

Sonam Kapoor is back in the news again. A video of her revealing she had a fight with a pandit who wanted to feed her baby son Vayu, has gone viral on the Internet. In the clip, Kapoor called out the age-old tradition of feeding infants honey. “First year… you cannot give honey to babies as it can cause infant botulism. Honey has several bacterial properties,” she was seen saying in the clip. The video went viral on the microblogging website, gaining more than 1.6 million views and 4,400 likes While some praised her for being so outspoken, many left scathing comments, criticising her disrespect of traditions. “Angreji bol rahi hai, sach hi bol rahi hogi,” (she is speaking so much English, must be speaking the truth!) quipped one Twitter user. Another caustic comment reads, “Bacche ko daaru pilaakar saare tradition todh do queen!” (Please feed your baby alcohol, break all traditions) “So they call pandit ji, take his opinion and then refute it so they can blabber at events,” said another.

ACC Ltd. rose 0.65 per cent to Rs 2011.2 in Friday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 2023.8 and low of Rs 1998.2, respectively, during the day.

MCX share price: After market regulator, Securities and Exchange Borad of India (SEBI) asking Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) to keep its Commodity Derivative Platform (CDP) launch in abeyance, MCX shares witnessed heavy sell off pressure during early morning session. The monopoly stock opened lower in the opening bell at ₹1,970 per share and went on to hit intraday low of ₹1,913.25 per share within few minutes of stock market's opening today, logging near 9 per cent dip from Thursday close of ₹2,096.55 levels.

The Vaccine War, directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, earned ₹1.3 crore on Day 1. Even on Day 2, it is expected to mint ₹1.3 crore, as per estimates by Sacnilk. The estimated Box Office collection so far stands at ₹2.6 crore.
