Havells India Ltd. fell 0.6 per cent to Rs 1390.5 in Thursday's trade as of 12:53PM (IST) even as the benchmark Nifty ruled at 20072.15, up 2.15 points. The scrip had closed at Rs 1399.0 in the previous session.

Varun Beverages Ltd. traded 0.26 per cent up at Rs 914.75 at 12:38PM (IST) on Thursday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex dropped 68.86 points to 67398.13. The scrip had settled at Rs 912.35 in the previous session.

Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd. traded 0.23 per cent higher in Thursday's session at 12:23PM (IST).

GAIL (India) Ltd. gained 0.36 per cent to Rs 124.7 in Thursday's trade as of 12:28PM (IST). The stock hit a high price of Rs 125.5 and low of Rs 123.6 during the session. The return on equity (ROE) for the stock stood at 8.64 per cent.

Siemens Ltd. rose 0.5 per cent to Rs 3808.2 in Thursday's trade.

Sugar stocks jumped over 13% on the NSE on Thursday on the likelihood of a 14% fall in sugar output in Maharashtra in the 2023-24 crop year.Dalmia Sugar was the top gainer, while Dhampur Sugar, Avadh Sugar & Energy, Balrampur Chini Mills, Rana Sugar, Shree Renuka Sugars, The Ugar Sugar, Dwarikesh Sugar, Eid Parry and Triveni Engineering & Industries rallied 6-12%. Sugar stocks have been gaining lately on concerns over production in the wake of weak monsoon in the growing areas. Maharashtra, which is among India's top-producing states, has been at the receiving end of the monsoon witnessing the driest August in more than a century, according to industry insiders and government officials as reported by Reuters. «Sugar mills are worried that production could fall sharply in the new season because of drought.

InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. gained 1.11 per cent to Rs 2474.0 in Thursday's trade.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.17 per cent at 45989.55 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.45 points at 20100.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 55.3 points at 67522.29. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red. Shares of JP Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, NBCC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Magadh Sugar Energy, Bombay Dyeing, Silver Touch Tech, Sakthi Sugars and Dalmia Bharat hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Vasa Retail & Overse, Vaxtex Cotfab and Mono Pharmacare hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.

Adani Power Ltd. traded 0.7 per cent up in Thursday's trade at 11:11AM (IST).

Cement prices have been raised for the second time this month in eastern parts of India while remaining steady in central, northern and southern parts of the country, dealers said. Prices were increased 3-10% earlier this month across regions, spurred by weak monsoon rains in August which helped prop up demand even in the seasonally weak September quarter. Cement prices are now at record highs in the Kolkata region, at around Rs 410 per bag, while touching a pan-India high of Rs 435 per bag in Odisha, Nomura Financial said in a note. With the price hikes earlier this week, the region has seen prices rise more than a fifth since August. In Mumbai, company prices are at about Rs 420 a bag, but traders are offering discounts of Rs 10-15 per bag, said a city-based dealer, who did not wish to be identified.

On the other hand, Bombay Dyeing, Dalmia Bharat, Silver Touch Tech, Avadh Sugar Energy and Mawana Sugars stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today. In the Nifty 50 index, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, UPL and Divis Labs were among the top gainers on the NSE. Tata Consumer, ITC, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints and Kotak Bank were among the top losers.
