Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.17% in an upbeat market
Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 2.46 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.79 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.61 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.75 per cent) were among the top gainers.
ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.17 per cent at 45989.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.45 points at 20100.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 55.3 points at 67522.29.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, NBCC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Magadh Sugar Energy, Bombay Dyeing, Silver Touch Tech, Sakthi Sugars and Dalmia Bharat hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Vasa Retail & Overse, Vaxtex Cotfab and Mono Pharmacare hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
