In a post on X, Atishi shared the disheartening update, stating, «It is with great sadness that I share the news that the man who fell into the borewell has been found dead by the rescue team.»

During police interrogation, Singhal confessed stating that he wanted to avenge his son's misbehavior and physical abuse towards him. He also aimed to teach a lesson to his wife, who supported their son, by killing him a day before his wedding. According to the investigators, the trigger for the murder was a brawl that occurred on Wednesday. However, Singhal had been contemplating killing his son for the past few months. He hired three contract killers, aged between 22 and 25, from the same locality and paid them Rs 75,000 for the job. The deal was fixed at Rs 1.5 lakh.
