Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday announced that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will come into force from January 2025. The state has done its homework for the implementation of the UCC, he said. Uttarakhand is set to become the country's first state to implement the UCC after Independence. While chairing the meeting of the Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructural on Wednesday, Dhami told the officials that Uttarakhand is now fully prepared to implement the UCC from January. He instructed the officials to ensure proper training of the personnel, besides arranging all kinds of basic facilities to implement the provisions of the code. He also asked the officials to keep the maximum services online to avoid the chances of inconvenience for the public.

Bharti Airtel’s Africa unit is seeing strong business resurgence and is set to pull ahead of rival telcos operating in the African continent, including MTN, Vodacom and Orange by recording the highest revenue growth in Year 2025, analysts and industry experts said. London-based NewStreet Research estimates that Airtel Africa Plc will deliver 20.6% on-year revenue growth in Year 2025 vs 17.2% (MTN), 9% (Orange) and 6.8% (Vodacom). In Year 2024, Airtel Africa is estimated to have drawn level with MTN, with both telcos slated to report over 21% on-year revenue growth — significantly higher than Orange and Vodacom’s 9.4% and 6.4% estimated growth levels respectively, the UK brokerage added.

Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has won an order for 1,297 bus chassis from Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). This marks the third order for the auto major from UPSRTC in a year, with a cumulative order size of over 3,500 units, Tata Motors said in a statement. The order was won through a competitive e-bidding process and the bus chassis will be delivered in a phased manner under mutually agreed terms, it added. The Tata LPO 1,618 diesel bus chassis is developed specifically for intercity and long-distance travel.
