Sebi on Friday said it will auction two properties of Swar Agrotech India Ltd at a reserve price of over Rs 1 crore on August 7 to recover money raised by the firm from the public through illicit schemes. Inviting bids, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said an auction of the properties will be conducted through online mode between 11 am and 1 pm on August 7.

India’s leading mobile payments and financial services company Paytm, which has pioneered digital payment, has continued to be in a leadership position in the segment. The company added 4 lakh new merchants in June, who have subscribed to its premium devices including Soundbox and card machines, taking the total count to 79 lakh merchants. So far till June 2023, Paytm has added 21 lakh merchants who are paying subscriptions for its devices.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Thursday announced the launch of a virtual branch, PNB Metaverse. It is a virtual branch of the bank, which will deliver a unique experience of banking to existing and new customers who can now explore the bank's products and services such as bank deposits, retail/MSME loans, digital products, women/senior citizens, 'Do It Yourself' and government flagship schemes, PNB said in a statement.

Aadhaar and PAN expired on June 30, 2023, and the government has not issued any extensions. From July 1, 2023, if PAN is not linked to Aadhaar, it will become inoperative. One needs to make a payment of Rs 1,000 through the E-filing portal in order to link their PAN with their Aadhaar. If you have failed to link PAN with Aadhaar and you need to check if your PAN is operative, one of the ways to check is by using your Form 26AS.

Direct-to-home provider Tata Play (earlier Tata Sky) has announced a new platform service, Tata Play Asomiya Monoronjan in partnership with ReelDrama to offer a selection of Assamese content for television viewers. This partnership marks the first collaboration with an OTT platform to deliver content for TV audiences thereby paving the way for OTT partners to explore the world of linear TV viewing, the company said in a statement. ChatGPT, the wildly popular AI chatbot launched in November, saw monthly traffic to its website and unique visitors decline for the first time ever in June, according to analytics firm Similarweb. Worldwide desktop and mobile traffic to the ChatGPT website decreased by 9.7% in June from May, while unique visitors to ChatGPT's website dropped 5.7%. The amount of time visitors spent on the website was also down 8.5%, the data shows.

ChatGPT, the highly popular AI chatbot introduced in November, experienced a decline in its website's monthly traffic and unique visitors for the first time in June, as reported by Similarweb, an analytics firm. Globally, the desktop and mobile traffic to the ChatGPT website witnessed a decrease of 9.7 per cent in June compared to May, while the number of unique visitors to the website dropped by 5.7 per cent. Additionally, the data reveals that visitors spent 8.5 per cent less time on the website.

Samsung Electronics' June-quarter profit is expected to plunge 96% year-on-year to the lowest for any quarter in more than 14 years, as a chip glut continues to drive large losses in the tech giant's cash cow business despite a supply cut. Operating profit for the world's biggest maker of memory chips, smartphones and TVs likely fell to 555 billion won ($427 million) in the April-June quarter, according to a Refinitiv SmartEstimate from 27 analysts, weighted toward those who are more consistently accurate.

₹1,200 crore investment led by Multiples Private Equity (PE) along with its co-investors including International Finance Corporation (IFC) to expand access to capital for India’s micro, small and medium enterprises.  The deal comprises of a primary issuance of Rs 400 crore and provides a part exit to early investors, British International Investment (BII) and Lok Capital, the lender and Multiples PE said in a statement.  While Multiples PE, along with co-investor World Bank’s private investment arm IFC and others, will be infusing ₹1,050 crore; Avendus Future Leaders Fund also participated in the transaction investing Rs 150 crore.  Veritas proposes to use the fresh capital to enter new markets and strengthen its new product lines, including affordable housing loans.  “The fresh capital raised will provide significant runway for growth, help deepen our existing offerings and expand into the affordable housing space.
