Jack Welch’s CEO factory has stopped production: Good riddance.
Last week, reports surfaced that after more than a year on the market, General Electric (GE) finally managed to offload Crotonville, its storied leadership academy nestled along the Hudson River in the suburbs of New York City. It’s not just Crotonville that’s a tough sell these days for GE. It’s also the executives the training centre helped shape and the leadership philosophy it long espoused.

Sugar, you shrunk the kids: Bouquet of diseases nestled within your child's nutritional drinks
sugar or two. Experts say this habit has likely persisted or worsened in your adulthood, paving the way for the bitter moniker “diabetes capital of the world” for India. The problem with the so-called nutritional drinks has come to the fore in recent weeks after the latest controversy regarding Nestle's Cerelac brought to light how brands have been using 'added sugar' to products that are meant for infants. However, denying the allegations, Nestle spokesperson told ET Online that the reduction of added sugars is a priority for the brand.

Sugar rush alert: Nestle’s infant formula in hot water
Days after the Centre asked e-commerce companies to eject Bournvita and other drinks and beverages from the ‘health drinks’ category on their platforms, Nestle has landed in hot water. After Public Eye, a Swiss investigative organization, and International Baby Food Action Network sent samples of Nestle’s baby food products sold in Asia, Africa and Latin America to a Belgian laboratory for tests, sugar was reportedly found in the infant milk-mix meant for less developed markets, but not in the stuff aimed at Europe and the UK.

Is it time to take small bets in FMCG stocks? Should you buy IT largecaps on 10-15% correction?
Sandip Sabharwal, asksandipsabharwal.com, says that “given the pace at which the entire artificial intelligence segment is changing, many companies are unsure of whether they should invest now or wait. That will weigh on the performance at least for CY2024. So, it might be premature to buy. However, these are cash generating companies which also do buybacks periodically. If the largecap ones correct 10-15% from the current levels, I would be interested in buying them at those prices.” In the telecom sector, everything is running right from a Vodafone to an Airtel to an Indus Towers and Bharti Hexacom. What is your top bet, if any, within the telecom sector? What is the recommendation on Vodafone FPO for retail investors? Sandip Sabharwal: Bharti Airtel remains the best bet as a pure play telecom company and that is something which we have owned for several years now. Now, the story out here obviously remains that of consolidation and improved ARPUs. So, ARPUs in India still are very low relative to what they are globally and to that extent there is an expectation that as Jio becomes more focused on profitability, we will see more pricing discipline and by definition higher profits for all of these companies.

Nestle may face strict action by Indian food regulator if found guilty in sugar controversy
FSSAI) on Thursday took cognisance of Nestle's Cerelac sugar case, reported ET NOW citing sources. The regulator said that if found guilty, strict actions will be taken against the brand. A committee will be examining the matter, said FSSAI, as per ET NOW sources. Nestle sugar controversy Nestle adds sugar to infant milk sold in less affluent nations including India but not in its primary markets like Europe or the UK, reported ToI. The revelation came to light when «Public Eye,» a Swiss investigative organization, and IBFAN (International Baby Food Action Network) dispatched samples of the company's baby food items marketed in Asia, Africa, and Latin America to a Belgian laboratory for examination.
