According to ET Now report, promoter entity Jamnagar Utilities and Power, a step-down unit of Reliance Industries (RIL), likely bought about 5 crore Jio Financial Services shares at ₹208-211 apiece.

Jio Financial Services hit the 5% upper circuit on Wednesday following a likely block deal in pre-market trade wherein 12.7 lakh shares of the company changed hands. The development invited a strong investor response with over 1.58 crore shares trading on the NSE in the opening trade. The block deal reported by ET NOW is the second in a row and follows a deal on Tuesday which saw 0.8% equity changing hands.

On the BSE, Haria Exports(down 18.91 per cent), Ganga Pharmaceutical(down 13.19 per cent), Gravity(India)(down 7.71 per cent), Innocorp Ltd(down 7.51 per cent) and B-Right Realestate L(down 6.84 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session. In the Nifty pack, 39 stocks traded in the green, while 10 stocks traded in the red. The Nifty index was trading 98.65 points up at 19441.3. On the BSE, Haria Exports, Ganga Pharmaceutical, Padmanabh Alloys, Bhaskar Agro and Karnavati Finance Lt hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Bondada Engineering, Ken Financial Services Ltd., Delta Manufacturing, Alphalogic Industrie and Menon Bearings touched their fresh 52-week highs.

United Spirits Ltd. traded 1.28 per cent up at Rs 1015.8 on Wednesday at around 10:25AM (IST), while the benchmark BSE Sensex advanced 336.68 points to 65412.5. As many as 2,127 shares changed hands on the counter with a total value of Rs 2153.0 crore. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 1050.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 730.9. On the technical charts, the 200-DMA of the stock stood at Rs 861.0, while 50-DMA was at Rs 970.4.

Indian Hotels Company Ltd. rose 1.78 per cent to Rs 400.0 in Wednesday's trade.

India VIX was down by 1.41% from 12.39 to 12.22 levels on Tuesday.

US jobs data reduced the chances of further Federal Reserve rate hikes. The US dollar index - which measures the currency against six developed-market peers including the yen and euro - was little changed at 103.57 after pulling back from as high as 104.36 overnight. On Tuesday, the rupee ended 8 paise lower at 82.71 a dollar.

The MWPL for GMR Airports stood at 82.5% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 79.6 million.
