In the Nifty index, Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.09 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.57 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent) and UPL Ltd.(up 1.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and NTPC Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
