In the Nifty index, UPL Ltd.(up 3.86 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.93 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 2.18 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.89 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.84 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent), ITC Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
